On Sunday, the boys got to enjoy a fun outing to Chamonix. We took the scenic train all the way up the mountain and then ventured back down into the ice caves. The children found it very interesting to learn about the impact of climate change has had on the glacier.

Today our boys spent some time outside enjoying this lovely weather that we have been having recently.

Today we visited the big Aquarium in Lausanne.
Our students saw magnificent fishes and aquatic creatures. Also, we discovered that a huge Spinosaurus was hiding under the stairs. A great time of knowledge and fun.

Today Louis, Matvei, and Firdavs had the honor to represent the colors of CDL at an inter-school Basketball Tournament.

Team-Spirit, Energy, and Fun were the keywords of this day.
After a few intense matches,  Louis’ team finished 2nd.

The other Champs des Bois students came to see the match and encourage their friends.

Tonight we were lucky to have dinner in the boarding house, and on top of that, we had the chance to eat delicious Kebabs sandwiches.

For dessert, we had Burberry pies (that gave our kids this wonderful Blue smile)

Today on the way back from school, Liam Saw an empty plastic bottle floating in the river.  After asking for permission, he took it out of the water and went to throw it in the bin.

Bravo Liam.

We have come to the end of what has been an awesome long weekend in the mountains. Thank you to all the children for being polite, on-time and super enthusiastic in all of their activities! We were lucky enough to be able to stay an extra day and really make the most of our time in such a magical place. Friendship have become stronger, and we are glad to hear how much fun the children have had and how grateful they are for this wonderful experience!

Climbing and baking were the most expected activities this week. Most of our children joined them and they were so much fun! Matvei chose cooking and baking and Amir went to play chess instead.

We’ve been surrounded by pancakes this weekend. Four of our children cooked together to find the best recipe and it was so difficult to figure it out…! All the three recipes they cooked were mouth-watering and there were no pancakes left last evening. Some students from other boarding houses came around to participate as judges in our pancake competition and… Matvei was the winner! Congratulations Matvei and thank you all for this great day!

Thursday evening was full of reflections. Online safety was put on the table and the children discussed the importance of not sharing their personal information when surfing on the internet or using social media.

We worked together to find useful and safe usernames and passwords and got to this conclusion:

M – Meeting up (Meeting up someone you have only been in touch with online can be dangerous. Always check with an adult you trust.)

A – Accepting files (Accepting emails, files, pictures or texts from people you don’t know can cause problems.)

R – Reliable? (Check information before you believe it. Is the person or website telling the truth?)

T –  Tell someone (Tell an adult if someone or something makes you feel worried or uncomfortable.)
