Concha house activity

Today the Concha boys, Mr Sergio and Mr Erik went to play some Lasertag and we had a lot of fun. We could see very exciting, intense and competitive boys having a blast for over one hour. Good job guys!!

Well-Being

Today in our second session of the four pillar  “Making safe and responsible choices” we focused on recognising emotions and how to have an emotional health. The boys were able to describe the 8 basic emotions and to give real examples of when they have felt like that. We also watched a video where explained deeply these types of emotions and how to deal with it. It was also an opportunity for them to express their feelings and to count on us whenever they need it.

Boarding Assembly – Special Guest, Dr. Malmberg

This evening we had a Boarding Assembly in the Eiger Auditorium. We were honoured to have our school doctor, Dr Malmberg, who joined us in order to give the students and staff an update on Covid-19. Dr Malmberg’s clear message was that the staff and students must continue to follow the hygiene guidelines delivered by the medical professionals and our Senior Leadership Team, to continue to wash our hands and use anti-bacterial sanitisers on a regular basis. The advice given has been ten times per day.

Many of the students had questions for Dr Malmberg and Mr Usher, which were greatly received. Amir, Fady and Carlos all asked questions during the assembly.

After dinner, Mr Jaime held a short meeting with our Primary students, so that he could remind them again about the importance of hygiene, washing their hands and reducing physical contact with others.

Wellbeing – Making Safe and Responsible Choices

This week we combined our Wellbeing Session with our evening Meditation Session. We discussed the topic of ‘Making Safe and Responsible Choices’. This is quite a wide and open topic and made for a good discussion amongst the boys, especially the Grade 8 students.

Following this discussion, we had our optional Meditation Session where we asked the boys to think about good choices that they can make in school, in the Boarding House, when they are with their families and when they are having free time in public spaces.

We had five boys who stayed for the Meditation Session, and they found it very interesting and relaxing. (Shintaro, Kevin, Carlos, Fady and Nikolai)
