Fall break is just around the corner. I can hear the word ‘fall break’ in almost all conversations. Soon Meritas will be full of suitcases. No matter what the destination is, it is always good to have a break from the busy life of school and come back refreshed.
Recently I found a really good song for relaxation. It is called ‘So much magnificence’. After listening to it I actually feel calm and relaxed. Try it, it’s really amazing.
There is a movie called ‘New Year’s Eve’. Well, it is not new year yet, but this movie is really inspiring. It’s not one of those movies you watch to analyze or discuss about, but it can definitely make you feel relaxed and warm. My favorite line from the movie is:
“As you all can see the ball has stopped half way to its porch. It’s suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the New Year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or close ourselves down for fear of getting hurt. Cause that’s what New Year is all about, getting another chance. The chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what will be. So when that ball drops at midnight, and it will drop, let’s remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other.”
Finally, wish everyone a nice relaxing break.
Girls of Meritas are not only good at studying but also at cooking.
Last week me and my roommate Dina decided to try to prepare something Chinese as it got really popular. In Migro which is nearby we bought Basmati rice, found very interesting receipts in the internet and occupied the kitchen for almost an hour.
The taste of our “hand-made” food was quite specific, but still we liked it. That was a nice way to spend some time together and to put the level of cooking a bit higher.
Next week we are planning to prepare something Russian, as some of us really miss Russian borsh!
