Going, going… gone!

In Villa Ecureuil at 19:30 on Friday, Oct 18, I am the only one in the main house…! And Elina & Emily are the only two students left in the Annex. The time has arrived for everybody to enjoy the first break of this 2013-2014 academic year!!

What are the plans for these days off? I heard… seeing friends, of course staying with parents and brothers/sisters, enjoying good home-made food and the specialties everyone misses, and… sleeping in! Sounds good to me!!

Yes, Dina, too, turned 18 last Wednesday, Oct. 16! Even if she swore she would not get a driver’s licence, I bet there is a lot behind this milestone… Lots of emotions, ideas, projects and dreams!!! We wish all your dreams will come true, Dina! Happy birthday from ALL THE 15!!

When two roomies have birthdays is just amazing 🙂 Flowers are everywhere, literally! 🙂 Thanks to everyone who made our home so cosy and bright 😉

Last week

Last week of school, everyone is very excited about October break :))) This is a week of packing up and exams. Yulia already left today – she is the lucky one! Most of us are leaving on Friday 🙂 I am going to miss them, but 10 days after life will come back to the same place and it will feel as if the holidays never happened… Good luck everyone =)

It’s only October…

Last week before the mid-term break and I am already going crazy. Only a few days ago, I was so emotional that I would laugh and cry at the same time. My teachers already warned me that November will be a “hell of a month” for victims of IB. Looking forward to October break and hoping to get plenty of sleep… Thank God that ToK essays have already been turned in…

Senior Picture

Today our senior picture was taken in Concha. I was bit worried before, because it rained for a while. However, it stopped just when we went to Concha. It was short and awkward to take a picture in such a hurry. I hope the pictures will be nicer than what I imagine. 🙂

I don’t have many pictures, but I have one (good) picture that I took with my friends.

Stay healthy!!!

Winter is coming and it means that there is a big risk for us to get sick. A very easy way to keep yourself healthy is to eat fruits! Fruits are loaded with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, which are essential for our body and also strengthen our immunity towards diseases. Fruits like oranges, blueberries, strawberries  keep cancer, heart attack and other coronary diseases away. Vitamin C in these fruits keeps our blood pressure in check. Antioxidants in cherries, raspberries and blueberries fight free radicals and repair the damaged cells in our bodies. Enough reasons why fruits are good for health! So I strongly recommend you to eat fruits every day 😉 And as we girls always want to keep our weight in check, fruits help us with that!  They are very low in calories and are beneficial for those who want to lose weight. One can always substitute fruits for any regular food they eat and, as fruits consist mostly of water, they can make the stomach full and curb down the craving for more foods 😉 Stay healthy!!!

Visit to the Cailler Chocolate Factory on Sunday, Oct 6

Have you ever wondered what really goes on behind the doors of a working chocolate factory? Would you like to discover where Cailler chocolate comes from and how it is made? Are you eager to learn about the different types of chocolate and how the delicious Cailler chocolate assortments are created?

This museum is very good. It starts with a movie showing different historic short footage about the factory’s history. Then it’s a walk through the history of chocolate, ending up in the factory itself. You get to feel, smell and taste the raw materials of chocolate, witness its production and sample its results (eat as much as you like of 20-30 varieties). By the end of the day it is almost impossible too look at any piece of chocolate, as your stomach is ready to explode.

With an informative excursion we were able to be fully involved into the chocolate production.  We were able to create our own unique bar filling with a favourite type of chocolate as well as decorating it with nuts, crisps or cinnamon. By this you can create your perfect receipt of the chocolate from your dreams, you can either share it or eat it by yourself.

Shopping was also a turning point in out excursion as you ought to buy as much as you can in order to feed with tempting chocolate not only yourself but also all your friends and relatives. Indeed the Cailler shop was huge, containing loads of different types of chocolate and sweets. Even the most critical person can find a perfect piece of sweet temptation on the shelves and buy as many as he wants for the acceptable price!

Overall the trip to the chocolate factory was impressive for me and with rivers of hot chocolate I also gained positive emotions and memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
