Today Maria and Diana leaded the session giving a zumba class and we enjoyed a lot. I am very happy that the girls are exercising regularly and they are aware of the benefits: exercise makes us happier, it helps in weight loss, it gives us more energy, more positive thoughts and motivation, it helps our brain and memory therefore our academic performance.
In our session today, we talked about how it has been this first week of school. The girls have been sleeping well and are getting used to their new life in the Boarding Community. It has been an interesting session, since we tried a ten minute meditation-relaxation session and for most of the girls it was really nice and relaxing, for others it was quite challenging to let go and focus on their presence. I was glad to see that the girls appreciated. Looking forward to our next well being session!!!
The Olympic Capital, Lausanne has been home to the IOC (International Olympic Committee) for 100 years and in 1993, the IOC founded its unique official museum on the banks of Lake Geneva. In 2013, The Olympic Museum was completely renovated with the most up-to-date facilities. Now on three floors, the exhibition presents the origin of the games, the competitions and the athletic spirit through over 150 screens and 1500 objects: The Olympic torches and medals of all The Olympic games, as well as the equipment of the most famous athletes. CDL students spent a great time today visiting this fantastic museum.
In Ecureuil Boarding House we were very pleased to start our wellbeing program yesterday evening. We care about our students, and we are here to help them build the foundations to rise and shine through life. During this term we are going to focus on Nurturing healthy minds and bodies. I was happy to see that the girls have an awarness about what wellbeing means and why they should monitor and study their sleep habits. Sleep is very important for staying healthy and luckily, the average hour rate of sleep in our house is 8 hours per night. The girls are going to use a sleep diary in order to monitor and measure the quality of their sleep for 2 weeks. The sleep patterns are going to help us and them understand and try small changes at a time in order to improve their sleeping habits. I was happy to see their engagement to this project. Until next time, be happy and smile 🙂
