Happy 19th Birthday Elmar

Elmar was emotional today as he got his cake for this 19th birthday. Quoting him…”it’s my last birthday at CDL”.

What a journey this was!!! Elmar will soon go to University and he is doing so well academically that we can’t help but feeling a little emotional about his achievements.

Celebrations entailed a barbecue with his friends, by the lake… We wish you all the best Elmar 🙂

Fresh hibiscus tea from Senegal!

Fulfilling one of our favourite traditions, on every Wednesday we have an international dinner, today we have discovered the food of Senegal, among the most outstanding dishes for our students are the maffe, beef with rice and peanut oil, really tasty. And without a doubt what surprised us the most was the fresh hibiscus tea, super refreshing and sweet.

World Pizza Day

Can you picture a better day to celebrate ??? 🙂

We celebrate anything we can and therefore all the Boarding Houses baked a pizza, in the shape of a smiley face, to express our unconditional love for one of the best meals one can have.

Albion and Ayam were the dedicated pizzaiolos and they did a great job… unfortunately for them, they had to share it when it came to eating it 😀

Happy World Pizza Day everyone

Vegetables to power!

We never get bored of discovering new dishes in the CDL dining room, this time with a couple of colourful vegetable dishes, full of nutrients and authentic flavour.

This time the dishes were tuna wrapped with vegetables and vegetable pie.

We also had a choice of pork, chicken, and beef: there is always a choice.

Léman 2 climbing up the walls!

Today’s objectives were clear: Have fun, overcome new challenges, and make Mr. Rodrigo happy by going climbing with him.

Three of us, Rakann, Taichi, and Kotaro have faced the difficult challenge of climbing, both bouldering and lead climbing. Leaving aside our fear of heights and trusting a lot, we have managed to reach the top, even though it has been hard.

Here you have a few pics so that you can see how much fun we had:

P.S: Mr. Rodrigo is very grateful that you have shared his passion for climbing with him and that you have enjoyed this healthy hobby.

Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Xin Nian Kuai Le means Happy New Year in Mandarin Chinese.

We had a great evening today to celebrate Chinese New Year, our dining hall was fantastically decorated and the food was wonderful.

Let’s hope that this new year of the tiger will bring us all a lot of strength to be able to move forward with all our projects.

It was nice to have a chat with our Chinese students about their culture, they showed us the animals of the Chinese zodiac and we found out which are ours (we leave below the information if you want to know yours). We were also told that we could only open one fortune biscuit, if you don’t like yours you will have to wait until next year.

Luckily we do like our fortune biscuit.
