Building Positive Relationships

This month our girls are learning about positive relationships.

On our third pillar we introduced Building Positive Relationships.

Building positive relationships with people is so important for our own sense of wellbeing.

During this pillar we will cover topics such as “What makes a good friend?”, toxic relationships, boundaries and positive relationships.

If you are interested in knowing more about this topic, please find a video attached to this post.

Easy mug cake recipe!

Want a quick chocolate fix? Follow the recipe below to make a chocolate mug cake! Yum!

STEP 1

Add 4 tbsp self-raising flour, 4 tbsp caster sugar and 2 tbsp cocoa powder to the largest mug you have (to stop it overflowing in the microwave) and mix.

STEP 2

Add 1 medium egg and mix in as much as you can, but don’t worry if there’s still dry mix left.

STEP 3

Add the 3 tbsp milk, 3 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil and a few drops of vanilla essence and mix until smooth, before adding 2 tbsp chocolate chips, nuts, or raisins, if using, and mix again.

STEP 4

Centre your mug in the middle of the microwave oven and cook on High for 1½ -2 mins, or until it has stopped rising and is firm to the touch.

Music room improved!

We are glad to announce that CDL house parent Rogerio helped us to improve our music room. Now we can fully use it as a recording studio. All the wires are connected and software upgraded🎶🎸🎹

You can now book a session in the recording studio, just ask your house parents for more info!📝

Wellbeing pillar 3 – Positive Friendships

This time we are bringing to light a topic about positive friendships.

These are just some of the questions we are thinking about during this wellbeing pillar:

What is a Toxic Friendship?  How can you spot it?  What can you do to change this behaviour? How to recognise toxic friendship?

Boundaries. What are they, how are they used in a friendship?  Is it positive to have boundaries in a friendship and why?
