Sunday tradition at CDL

Dear all,

Let’s talk about a sunday tradition here at Collège du Léman: the brunch.

Just like in many (big) families, we like to gather and relax on a sunday morning, sharing good food and talking about everything and anything. Everyone can find something they would like to eat: croissants or bacon, fruits or eggs, everything is fresh and cooked on the spot by our amazing kitchen staff.

And as it is Sunday, there is no rush. The cafeteria opens at 9.30am and closes at 11.30am, so everyone can go when they want. Such a good thing for the ones who are eager to go on activities in the morning, or for the ones who want to sleep longer.

Weekend 18-20th september

Wellbeing workshop

Dear all,

Yesterday evening, our grades 9 and 10 went to a wellbeing workshop organised by the boarding school and our counselor, Miss Jody. We all learned about expressing and dealing with our emotions. Then we worked in small groups and tried to solve scenarios, understand our feelings, and how to be a good listener. It was lovely to see our girls listening to each other and creating a safe space for everyone to feel welcome to share their feelings. In the pictures, you can see a drawing at the center of the table: it is the wheel of emotions, to help students find the right words for the right feeling. The students are showing with their hands how ‘full’ is their emotional jar.

Sports competition !

Dear all,

Yesterday afternoon, all the boarding houses met for a very special event… Sports competition day! We played against the New Portena girls. And our Villa Du Lac team won ! It was a lovely sunny day, so the ideal weather to play outside.

It was so nice to see our girls having fun and motivating each other. This sense of solidarity and fair-play is part of the VDL spirit.

Friday evening at VDL

Hi everyone !

It is time to spend time together after a busy week. Some girls cooked Asian food, others painted their nails, and we watched a movie together !

Wellbeing – Healthy Bodies and Minds

We have started our Wellbeing Program with the Pilar 1: Healthy Bodies and Minds. The girls are choosing their projects and some great ideas are arising. During the next weeks, we will cover important topics such as nutrition, exercise, and emotional regulation. We are happy with the very enthusiastic attitude in the house.
