Creating a Header for the blog

You have to create a new header for the Computer Graphics blog.

These simple instructions will help you in creating a banner for your personal blog.

You will have to create an image in Photoshop with dimensions of 970 × 140 pixels.

There are several ways you could complete this exercise – for example using photoshop at school, alternatively you can use any online tool you can find. A simple search for header/banner creation online will show you any number of free online tools you could use.

Your banner/header should be completed by our next class which is Monday 24th of September.

You should include:

The words:

  • Blog
  • CDL/Collège du Léman (Logo)
  • Computer Graphics (or similar)

Appropriate images, good use of colours correct size. Once your header is complete you should create a new post with your header included in it.

Create a post on your new header, then each of you will comment on everyone elses work – comments should be inline with ‘Writing Quality Comments’ guidelines.

What is a Blog? Prezi exercise.

You will investigate ‘What is a blog?’ and you will describe how YOU personally will be able to use a blog during the school year in this (and other classes).

Think of things like:
  • Personal Learning Plans
  • Homework
  • Progress in specific classes
  • Communicating with teacher and/or other students
You will produce a PREZI presentation to answer the question and how you can use a blog.

Follow this link for a tutorial on how to use Prezi.

Once done, create a new post with the link to your viewable Prezi (share button under your Prezi account).
