5km Run!! Well done to everyone!!

This Sunday saw the CDL Boarding 5km run, as part of the first pillar of our Wellbeing Programme – Nurturing Healthy Bodies and Minds. The Run was an opportunity for everyone, whatever their running ability, to challenge themselves and achieve something special.

It was a brilliant atmosphere and we would like to congratulate everyone who took part – we are very proud of everyone’s achievements!

Weekend Activities!!

Our incredible activities programme was back in full force this weekend, and lots of the Léman boys were able to enjoy a wide range of fun activities. These included: Tennis, Horse-Riding, Running, Chess, Golf, Sailing, Climbing and Handball!!

Nurturing Healthy Bodies and Minds – The Sleep Challenge

Last week, our student Wellbeing Advocates introduced the Sleep Challenge to all the other students in Léman Boarding House, as part of the first Wellbeing Pillar. The aim of this challenge was to highlight the importance, as well as the benefits, of a good nights sleep in our everyday lives.

One of our senior students, Jinwoo in Grade 12, wrote some feedback about how he felt after participating in the challenge. Here’s what he said:

Hi, this is my personal feedback for the well-being challenge. The most effective method for me to improve my sleep quality was by not being in front of the screen for 30 minutes prior to sleep. In my experience, the more time away from screen the better I felt throughout the day. However, considering the fact that I usually have to do the schoolwork until late (with laptop), 30 minutes is a reasonable time in my opinion. Meditation helped me as well. I’ve always done it occasionally throughout the day but I discover that it also improved the quality of my sleep. I didn’t try warm milk before bed because I have to brush my teeth afterwards which would wake me up anyway. Stretching didn’t help me with sleep for me personally because it woke me up due to the pain”.

Wellbeing Pillar 1 – Nurturing Healthy Bodies and Minds

A huge thank you to our two student wellbeing advocates – Marcelo and Aijuka

This evening they delivered a session to the rest of the students in Léman, focusing on how a healthy sleep routine will benefit us in our everyday lives.

A crucial part of this pillar will be to help the students by providing them with tools to get a better quality of sleep. A good sleeping routine has been proven to have a positive impact on one’s overall well-being.

We have challenged our students to participate in the ‘Sleep Better Challenge’, and they should try to achieve at least one of the 5 tips listed.

Léman closing for business

So, we have reached the end of an amazing year.

We would like to say a huge well done to ALL the boys who have been part of the Léman family this year; for their achievements, their hard work and for overcoming any obstacles they have faced.

We are already looking forward to our students coming back for the 23/24 academic year, as well as welcoming some new additions into our Boarding community. We hope you all enjoy your holidays with your loved ones. Be safe and have fun.

All the best,

The Léman Team
