Last Saturday Ryan and Yusef enjoyed a boat ride in Léman lake!
The weather wasn’t as good as expected and they couldn’t do wakeboard but at least they made a boat ride and enjoyed some of the sun rays that could be seen on Saturday’s morning!
What a great chance of seizing the day!

Being a boarder at CDL is not just about school,sports and trips. It is also about sharing different passions, trying new things, experiencing new sensations.
Yikang, attended on Friday the Classical Concert by the OSR. He had a great time and deeply enjoyed what he has seen and heard.
Fondé en 1918 par Ernest Ansermet, qui en est le chef titulaire jusqu’en 1967, l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande compte 112 musiciens permanents. Il assure ses concerts d’abonnement à Genève et Lausanne, les concerts symphoniques de la Ville de Genève, le concert annuel en faveur de l’ONU, ainsi que les représentations lyriques au Grand Théâtre de Genève. Sa réputation s’est bâtie au fil des ans grâce à ses enregistrements historiques et à son interprétation du répertoire français et russe du XXe siècle.
Son Directeur artistique et musical sera le chef britannique Jonathan Nott à partir de la saison 2016-2017. Son chef principal invité est le maestro japonais Kazuki Yamada.
Formation de réputation mondiale, l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, sous l’égide de son chef fondateur, puis des directeurs musicaux successifs (Paul Kletzki 1967-1970, Wolfgang Sawallisch 1970-1980, Horst Stein 1980-1985, Armin Jordan 1985-1997, Fabio Luisi 1997- 2002, Pinchas Steinberg 2002-2005, Marek Janowski 2005-2012, Neeme Järvi 2012-2015), a toujours contribué activement à l’histoire de la musique avec la découverte ou le soutien de compositeurs contemporains. Les œuvres de Claude Debussy, Igor Stravinski, Darius Milhaud, Arthur Honegger, Frank Martin, Benjamin Britten, Heinz Holliger, Peter Eötvös, James MacMillan, Pascal Dusapin, Michael Jarrell ou Richard Dubugnon ont été créées à Genève par l’OSR. C’est d’ailleurs toujours une de ses missions importantes: soutenir la création symphonique, et particulièrement suisse. L’OSR est partenaire de Pro Helvetia pour le projet « œuvres suisses » jusqu’en 2017.

Finally the weather gaves us a glimpse of summer and Ertan took advantage of it by heading to the lake and tasting the adrenaline of wakeboard. Photos to prove 🙂
Last week-end, the school has organised a trip to Rome. Some of our boys and girls spent four amazing days in one of the most exciting and interesting cities of the world.
Our very own Yikang took part on this trip and he seems to have enjoyed it very much

With the end of year exams on sight this Ascension Mini Holiday was good for all of us to relax a little and enjoy some of the nice weather.
Many left to go back home for a few days, others just travelled to many different places in Europe.
For those staying it was a nice opportunity to enjoy some spring weather and chill out at school.
Ertan for instance took part on the Wakeboard experience
Ryan went biking twice and he was exhausted. There was cinema on Sunday for Ryan, Ertan and Axultan and the evenings were spent playing footvolley as below
The good news is that next week-end it’s still another long week-end and we have 4 more days to rest. Then real business will begin 🙂
Our weekend started on Wednesday even if the boarders had school until Friday we had the international dinner and all the Russian speaking community of the school delighted us with their culinary treasures!
