A weekend full of wonderful experiences ✨
On Saturday morning, Duda took on the challenge of wake boarding on the stunning Lac Lèman 🏄♀️
Duda does a lot of surfing back home in Brazil, and is a very natural sportswoman so of course she made wake boarding look very easy indeed! On just her second go, she was standing up on the board! The instructor was very impressed with her ability and Duda absolutely loved it 🩷🙏
After her last attempt a few weeks ago, Heloisa was back in the kitchen making sushi again, this time – big maki rolls with a spicy sauce to accompany it 🍱
Heloisa also made the most of the beautiful weather by painting outside on the terrace. A very talented artist indeed 🎨✨
Lucy spent most of the week in Paris with her fellow IB students. An amazing school trip where they got to visit the famous landmarks, not only by foot, but by bike and boat! 🚲🛥️
The class also learnt how to do graffiti, and were given an allocated space to make their mark – Lucy and her friends did the ‘S’ in Paris! 🎨
Unsurprisingly, Lucy fell in love with this beautiful city and can’t wait to return🗼🥐
We were very happy to have her back in the house though, especially as she baked some delicious white chocolate & cranberry cookies – we decided the best way to enjoy them was fresh out of the oven with a glass of milk. Perfect 🩷
Baking with LDG56 ✨
On Saturday, Lucy made her favourite baked cake – the classic banana bread, but with a twist! She managed to create a wonderfully gooey texture, that held its form perfectly 🍰🍌
With the addition of dark chocolate chips & the very secret ingredient of apple sauce, this banana bread was her best yet. So good – the evidence was gone within the hour. Thank you, Lucy, for treating us to this amazing bake 🙏
Here is the recipe if you’d like to try it – just add chocolate chips & apple sauce if you want to make it extra delicious!

We then decided to use the left over ingredients to make pancakes for everyone! Some enjoyed the traditional lemon and sugar topping, whilst others opted for dark chocolate and banana. This was a lovely treat for the girls and we had a great time making them together🥰

A weekend full of new experiences ✨
This sunny weekend was filled with a variety of activities for our girls here in Louis Degallier! 🌞
First up, Lucy joined Collège du Léman’s very own karate club! Along with her friend Antonio, together they learnt the craft of this martial art. Well done Lucy for trying something new this weekend 👏
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Heloisa took on the challenge of making homemade sushi! With the help of fellow boarder, Nico, together they made 2 huge platters filled with freshly hand rolled sushi, including the classic ‘Maki’ 🍚
This type of sushi is made by wrapping rice and other ingredients in a sheet of seaweed called ‘Nori’, it’s then sliced into even segments. The hard part was making sure the consistency of the rice was perfect – a lot of concentration and skill is required to get it just right, and it seems like Heloisa & Nico followed the instructions to a tee. Well done! 🍱🍥
Heloisa also enjoyed the Stretching and Relaxing class, which took place outside this week! 🌻
Duda enjoyed the weekend socialising in the sunshine with friends. She couldn’t quite believe how lovely the weather could be in Switzerland having only experienced the cold winter so far. As an active person, Duda also went to the gym, and attended the body shaping class here at Collège du Léman 🙏
Well done for trying new things, girls – and here’s to more sunny days here at CDL! 🌞
Happy St Patrick’s Day ☘️
A cosy weekend: baking, relaxing & recharging ✨
There’s something about rainy weekends that makes us want to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the little things in life. Luckily for us, baking home cooked treats is something that our students love doing as part of their weekend relaxation 🥰
Here you can see Lucy making some amazing chocolate chip cookies that she made for the whole house 🍪❤️
The cookies were absolutely delicious, but unfortunately didn’t last long! She made a second batch and delivered some to another boarding house situated around the corner from us. I am sure this kind gesture was very well received 🤗🏠
Thank you, Lucy, for treating us to your culinary skills! 🥰👳♀️
Meanwhile, Jasmine made some healthy protein balls using peanut butter, flax-seeds and oats. A great healthy alternative to cookies 🧆🙏
Despite the rainy weather, the girls still felt motivated to move and enjoyed doing their workouts at the gym. In addition to this, Duda attended a Stretching & Relaxing class this morning – which aimed to improve flexibility and reduce stress 🧘
Over in Belgium, Maria Carolina enjoyed visiting some family members whilst doing the thing she loves the most – horse riding. Not only was she was able to do some impressive showjumping, but she also found the time to immerse herself in nature with these majestic animals. She returned to the boarding house this evening very happy indeed 🐴

Love is in the air 🩷❤️
Valentine’s day is a wonderful excuse for all of us to celebrate love & friendship with little acts of kindness that show appreciation for the special people in our lives. And that’s exactly what happened in our boarding community ✨
Every year, the students of Collège du Léman have the opportunity to send a rose to someone special. Our wonderful Louis Degallier girls secretly sent a rose and a heartfelt message to one another 🥰
Duda & Helo joined some other school friends to celebrate this special day. With a wonderful dress code of pink & red, the evening was filled with laughter, love and lots of delicious treats 🩷❤️
And of course Valentine’s day wouldn’t be complete without bouquets of beautiful flowers. The girls were well & truly spoilt 🌸🌷
This weekend in LDG 56 ✨
This weekend, Heloisa, Duda & Maria Carolina learnt how to make traditional french crepes, with a complex salted caramel sauce and classic caramelised apples! 🍎
It’s safe to say they enjoyed the process, and I’m not sure how much salted caramel sauce made it back to the boarding house 😅
On Saturday, Lucy was able to enjoy the ski slopes in Leysin. She was above the clouds, soaking up the sunshine and the beautiful mountainous air ⛰️🎿
Maria Carolina & Duda embarked on their first shopping experience in Geneva! They then found a delicious Brazilian restaurant where they enjoyed some food with some fellow boarders 🥗🥟
& finally, Jasmine was busy in the kitchen perfecting her cooking skills. Not only did she bake two batches of healthy brownies made with blended oats, but she also seasoned and cooked the perfect steak. Well done! 🥩
As always, we had a great weekend here in Louis Degallier 🥰
Welcome to the Annual Gingerbread House Competition ✨🏠
Every year, the boarding houses compete in the year long House Competition, and this weekend was the much-awaited Gingerbread House Competition! ✨🍪
As you can see, we have some very talented decorators here in Louis Degallier, who managed to produce the most wonderful festive house. Everyone helped in creating this fantastic masterpiece! ✨🏠
But the most challenging part? Getting it to school in one piece! And yesterday just happened to be the windiest day of the year! Well done, Ella, for protecting our beautiful house from the severe weather ♥️
Good luck girls! Results will be announced very soon! 🎖️
A Cosy, Wholesome & Festive evening at Home ✨
This weekend was one of our last weekends before the winter break, therefore, we decided to enjoy a cosy evening in together ❤️🥰
Complete with snacks, blankets, gingerbread decorating, festive films and the girls favourite take away – Sushi! 🍪🍣🍥🍱
And most importantly.. another opportunity to celebrate Heloisa’s birthday together as a house 🎉🎈🎂
❤️❤️❤️
