A cozy weekend in the House

This week brought the first snowflakes of the season, turning the chilly air into a perfect backdrop for cozy indoor activities. Emma and Valentina kicked things off with a fun baking session, making delicious chocolate chip cookies that filled the house with warmth.

The cold didn’t stop the girls from enjoying their activities, bodyshapping, tennis and stretching were the chosen this weekend.

But there was also time to relax with a crossword puzzle, part of the House competition, working together to solve it. It was a weekend full of simple joys—cookies, sports, and quiet moments—that made the first cold weekend a cozy time for us.

Another triumph at Volleyball for Vale

Valentina and her volleyball team celebrated a thrilling victory this week at a tournament celebrated in the Swiss town of Leysin. The competition, which brought together teams from the region, tested both skill and teamwork.

For Valentina, the win was about more than just the trophy—it was about the bonds she had built with her teammates.

Looking ahead, Valentina and her teammates are already focused on future challenges, knowing that their hard work has laid the foundation for even greater success. But for now, they’re savoring their moment as champions of Leysin.

Congratulations to Valentina and her team!

“Baking, Boxing, and Big Smiles: A Week of Fun and Giving”

This week has been full of heartwarming moments and some good laughs. Gia, who graduated last year, came back to speak with the grades 11 and 12 students about what college life is really like. She answered all their questions and shared some great advice. She also made time to visit the house and catch up with everyone, which was so nice.

Valentina and Emma also had some fun in the kitchen, baking a Brazilian chocolate cake. They invited friends over to share it and watched a movie, making for a relaxed and cozy evening.

This week we also kicked off our annual gift box appeal, where we raise funds to create boxes filled with essentials for children in need in Eastern Europe. The girls helped put together the boxes, which included things like paper, notebooks, pens, toys, toiletries, and sweets. With the support of the boarding community, we managed to raise enough money to pack 25 boxes. It’s always such a meaningful initiative, and it’s wonderful to see the girls come together to make a difference.

The November fitness challenge continued, and the girls gave it their all, even though it often ended in laughter! It’s been great to watch them push their limits and have fun at the same time.

Overall, it’s been a week filled with community, kindness, and fun. We’re proud of the girls for all their efforts and can’t wait to see what next week brings!

Lots of love,

Aida & Yewande

November Fitness Challenge

As the autumn air settles in and the days grow shorter, the girls of our boarding house have found a thrilling way to spice up the month of November: the November Fitness Challenge. It’s become an exhilarating daily ritual, where each day presents a new fitness task, and the atmosphere is charged with passion, determination, and a healthy dose of competition.

The November Fitness Challenge is about so much more than just breaking a sweat. It’s a celebration of each girl’s strength, determination, and the joy of pushing boundaries together. As the days go by, we can’t wait to see how much further our girls will go. If there’s one thing we are learning this month, it’s that anything is possible when you have the right mindset—and an awesome group of people cheering you on every step of the way.

Vale’s Volleyball Victory!!! 🏆

We couldn’t be prouder of Valentina, who represented CDL at the annual SGIS (Swiss Group of International Schools) Girls Volleyball Tournament in Leysin this year. Competing against some of the best teams in the region, Valentina and her teammates put their hearts into every serve, spike, and block. All their hard work paid off, as they clinched victory and brought home the win!
