We had a sushi dinner at the beginning of April where all the girls in the house made sushi together. It’s a skill we learned and we can use forever 🙂

It turned out to be a beautiful meal.

We are in the middle of exam time and working hard 🙂

Yolanda had fun going to the CERN film festival today. A good rainy day activity!

The weather was wet and grey, so some of us stayed inside to make cookies!

Welcome to our newest member of Villa Mies, Hannah Collins!!

Hannah is from Ireland and will be studying at CDL in the French section. We are all very excited to have a new member and are looking forward to getting to know her!!

Here’s hoping 2014 brings our girls all the success, love and happiness that they deserve!!

We are going to try and be more environmental in Mies next year. We already recycle paper, plastic and tin foil, and we are now committed to turning off lights when we leave the rooms.

To help us to do this, we have made an Ecological Reward Chart. Whenever someone leaves on the lights, they will get a sad face by their name. The person with the fewest sad faces at the end of each week will be the winner!

This year we decided to get into the Christmas Spirit early and make Christmas Gift Boxes, which will be delivered to orphanages in Eastern Europe.

We had a list of items to find, then we filled the boxes, wrapped them up, and sent them off. Items included pens, pencils, chocolate, sweets, toys, toothbrushes etc. We are sure that the recipients will be very happy when they unwrap their boxes on Christmas Day!

We’ve had an exciting few days in Mies with university applications!

Natalya has received a conditional offer on the Foundation course at City University London!

Becky has been given a conditional offer to study Landscape Architecture at the University of Sheffield!

Kamila has received a conditional offer for History and Italian at the University of St Andrews!

WELL DONE GIRLIES!!!

We look forward to hearing from all the other universities and to helping all our other girls apply to university.
