Mountain Weekend in Verbier – A Tradition of Adventure and Friendship

Thist weekend, all of our boarding students came together for one of the highlights of our year: the Mountain Weekend in the stunning Swiss Alps. This annual tradition is not only a great way to kick off the year with fresh air and outdoor fun, but also an amazing opportunity for new students to make friends and connect with the boarding community.

We were lucky to enjoy very beautiful weather throughout the weekend, which made the experience even more memorable. The girls took part in a variety of exciting mountain activities, including hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. These activities pushed them out of their comfort zones while allowing them to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Swiss mountains.

At the same time, in the village of Verbier where we were staying, the famous Spartan Race was taking place. This intense obstacle course covers several kilometers and includes challenges such as carrying heavy objects and climbing high walls. Our students had a great time watching the athletes take on these physical tests, it was both inspiring and entertaining!

The Mountain Weekend is a cherished boarding tradition, and each year it helps our students discover new passions, enjoy the natural beauty of Switzerland, and build strong friendships that last all year long. With fresh mountain air, plenty of sports, and lots of laughter, this was the perfect way to start the school year on a high note!

Abby’s 16 birthday 🥳🥳🥳

Today we’re celebrating a very special student in our boarding community, Abby, who just turned 16!

Abby’s birthday isn’t just about cake and candles (though we’re definitely enjoying those too!). She’s marking this milestone with a strong sense of purpose. Her biggest wish for her 16th year? To prepare for the SAT and start thinking seriously about university.

Abby’s focus and motivation are truly inspiring, and we’re proud to support her as she begins this exciting chapter. Whether she’s studying, sharing a laugh with her housemates, or thinking ahead to her future, Abby brings thoughtfulness and determination to everything she does.

Wishing you a fantastic year ahead, Abby, full of learning, growth, and all the opportunities you’re dreaming of! 💫

🎓 Graduation 2025 – A New Chapter for Sofiya, Kseniia, Manuela, and Haruka 🌟

This weekend, we proudly celebrated the graduation of four remarkable students: Sofiya, Kseniia, Manuela, and Haruka. Their journey through high school, and especially within the boarding community, has left a lasting impact on us all.

Over the past year, they have shown unwavering determination, resilience, and willpower, particularly during the intense exam period. We had the privilege of witnessing their growth, their ability to rise to challenges, and their personal and academic development.

Each of them brought something unique to our community — through their commitment, positive energy, and ambition, they became role models for their peers. Their time with us has been filled with meaningful connections, joyful moments, and unforgettable memories.

As they prepare to open a new chapter in their lives — university and beyond — we send them off with our warmest wishes for success and fulfillment. May they continue to believe in themselves, dream boldly, and pursue their goals with the same strength they have shown here.

Thank you for everything — and see you again soon on new paths!

🌿 Ascension Weekend at the Boarding House

Over the Pentecost long weekend, many of our boarders enjoyed a well-deserved break and took the chance to spend time with family or explore new places.

Ada spent the weekend in Lausanne with her father, taking in the sights and enjoying some quality family time.

Alejandra welcomed her family who flew in from Mexico and enjoyed discovering Geneva together.

Serena travelled to Manchester to reconnect with friends,

While Kseniia soaked up the sun and culture during a getaway to Malta.

Back at the Boarding House, Sofiya embraced the calm atmosphere, using the time to rest and try something new, she gave badminton a go and had lots of fun!

It’s always lovely to see how each student chooses to relax and recharge in their own way as we approach the final stretch of the school year. 💫

🌟 End-of-Year Support & Wellbeing Challenge

As we move closer to the end of the school year, we know this can be a stressful time for many of you. Some are still in the middle of exams, while others are waiting for their final results. Whatever stage you’re at, it’s completely normal to feel a little overwhelmed.

To support you through this period, we’ve launched a Wellbeing Challenge this week, a fun and easy way to take care of your body and mind. Whether it’s through movement, mindfulness, or simply taking a break, small actions can make a big difference.

You’ve all made amazing progress this year. Keep going, you’re almost there, and we’re proud of you! 💛

Running for a Cause, Resting for Success 🏃🧘‍♀️

This past weekend offered a mix of energy and calm across the boarding community. A special highlight was the 24-Hour Fun Run, which took place from Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. to Sunday at the same time. For a full 24 hours, students took turns running, showing impressive dedication and teamwork. More than just a physical challenge, the event was organized as a fundraiser for cancer research , turning every step into a symbol of solidarity and meaningful action.

Meanwhile, life at Maison Écureuil was more peaceful and reflective. With final exams just around the corner, the atmosphere was calm and focused. Some of the girls enjoyed a relaxing day trip to Geneva, while others stayed behind to study, unwind, rest. It was a well-balanced weekend, one that blended quiet preparation with inspiring community engagement.

Staying Active, Staying Focused

With spring bringing new energy and final exams just around the corner, our weekend activities offered students a much-needed break. Aleja took part in a tennis session, staying active and engaged. Meanwhile, Manuela joined a body shaping class — an ideal way to release tension and refocus as she prepares for her end-of-year assessments. These moments of movement and mindfulness help our students stay balanced and motivated.

24 Hours Running Challenge

We invite our staff & students to take part in an extraordinary event 17th may: a 24-hour non-stop run to support cancer research. Whether they’re an experienced runner, a casual walker, or just want to be part of something meaningful, everyone is welcome.

How it works:
The event runs continuously for 24 hours. They can participate solo or as part of a team and take turns running or walking. They choose how long and how far they want to go—every step counts!

Easter Break Vibes at the Boarding School 🌸

As Easter break begins, our boarding house feels a little quieter… Many of our students have headed home to spend time with their families, enjoy some well-deserved rest, and soak up the first real signs of spring. The air is getting warmer, the days a bit longer, and there’s a gentle energy that reminds us: brighter days are ahead.

This time of year always feels a bit special. After months of winter routines, there’s something refreshing about stepping outside without a coat, hearing birds in the morning, and knowing that summer isn’t too far away.

But as lovely as the break is, we all know what’s waiting when we come back: the final stretch. Just a few weeks left before exams begin and we wrap up another school year. It’s that time to stay focused, support each other, and make the most of these last moments together before summer takes us in different directions.

To all our boarders, we hope you’re taking time to relax, recharge, and come back ready to finish the year strong. We believe in you 💪✨

A sunny weekend full of energy 🌞

This weekend at the boarding school was full of energy and determination from each girl.

Sofiya’s climbing competition

Sofiya embodied strength, perseverance, and team spirit in her climbing competition. By entering this competition, you’re not just representing your own efforts and your willingness to improve; you’re proving to be a true role model for the other girls with your determination and positive attitude in representing your house. Your example shows that true success isn’t only about winning, but about the will to push yourself.
We admire your capacity for perseverance. No matter the result of this competition, know that you’ve already shown tremendous courage just by participating.

Sofiya’s georgian dish

This experience was unforgettable: an invitation to share a Georgian meal with students of Caucasian origin.
The hospitality was deeply touching. In this culture, hosting goes beyond a simple meal; it’s a gesture of welcome, an opening of the heart, and a true act of sharing. The students, with their warmth and kindness, made this moment unforgettable.
The meal was a festival of flavors, bursting with freshness and diversity. But what made it even more special was the atmosphere. The students didn’t just share food; they also shared their culture, traditions, and history.
Georgian cuisine isn’t just about taste, but also values: hospitality, respect for ancestors, and the celebration of family. Their authentic generosity reminded us of the importance of solidarity and sharing in our fast-paced world. This meal was not just a gastronomic experience; it was a rich cultural exchange, a bridge between our origins and personal histories.

Ada’s cooking time

Ada embraced the challenge of her cooking class, adapting with ease to new teammates and bringing her best to each dish. This weekend: Enchiladas
Ada has been attending cooking classes for a few weeks, embracing each session with enthusiasm and determination. Every class brings a new teammate, and rather than seeing this as a challenge, she sees it as an opportunity to learn and adapt. Ada quickly connects with others, creating a positive dynamic and always giving her best.
Her ability to adjust to different cooking styles and manage timing is impressive, and she adds her personal touch to every dish. Ada’s reputation as an exemplary student grows, as she not only creates delicious meals but fosters a sense of camaraderie, turning each kitchen moment into a joyful experience. For her, cooking is an opportunity to collaborate, learn, and always give her best.

Together, they created a weekend full of positivity, effort, and enjoyment, leaving everyone motivated for the week ahead.
