Wellbeing Pillar 5 – Week 2: Empathy 🫢🏼

Last night, during our House Assembly, we focused on how to build positive relationships thought empathy.

Our team of Advocates had prepared a video that explored the meaning of empathy and how important it’s to show empathy to other when they are at their lowest. The goal was to make students reflect on the different ways we can show empathyβ€” from actively listening to just support other or give them a hug. Any small detail can make someone going thought a difficult moment feel accompanied.

Manuela’s first Half-Marathon πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Today we celebrated a huge milestone for Manuela as she completed her first Half-Marathon ever!

Manuela has been training for the Half-Marathon since August and she described the experience as something she will never forget, and she recommends other students to sign up for next year’s race. It was her first time running more than 10 kilometers on a row, and she did 21k!

Manuela is an example of dedication and hard-work and we couldn’t be prouder!

Ada’s wild adventure 🦘

Today, Ada enjoyed an educational visit to Bioparc Geneva.

Home to over 300 animal speciesβ€”100 of which are endangeredβ€”Bioparc is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of wildlife. Its mission is not only to protect these animals but also to raise awareness about biodiversity and sustainability.

We love encouraging our Boarders to engage with the community. With this first visit, we hope our students will take part in future workshops and even volunteer to support the important work Bioparc is doing.

Wellbeing Pillar 5 – Making Safe and Responsible Choices

Last night, we introduced Pillar 5 of our Wellbeing Program: Making Safe and Responsible Choices. With this pillar, we want to encourage students to reflect on how their actions can impact not only themselves but also others, and how thoughtful decision-making is fundamental to build a supportive community around them.

To launch the pillar, we watched a video by Mr. Manu where he introduced the topic, the students participating in this pillar, the goals, and the take-away point we would be discussing during the next couple of weeks.

Following the video, the group took part in a discussion, reflecting on two key takeaway points for this pillar:

Sofiya’s 18th birthday πŸŽˆπŸŽ‚

Tonight we celebrated Sofiya’s 18th birthday! We reunited in the kitchen to sing Happy Birthday and share a delicious cheesecake. We enjoyed a lovely evening where the girls disconnected, for 30 minutes, from their exams and their studies.

Sofiya, we wish you all the best on this day; be as amazing as you always are, and don’t let anyone tell you what you can or can’t achieve. We are very proud of you!

May Fitness Challenge

We are pleased to introduce the May Fitness Challenge!

Each day, students will be challenged to try a different activity and will be able to win special rewards at the end of the month! With this initiative, we want students to forget about their textbooks for 5 minutes a day and get involved in some stress-relieving activities before their end-of-year exams next month.
