πŸŽ“ Graduation 2025 – A New Chapter for Sofiya, Kseniia, Manuela, and Haruka 🌟

This weekend, we proudly celebrated the graduation of four remarkable students: Sofiya, Kseniia, Manuela, and Haruka. Their journey through high school, and especially within the boarding community, has left a lasting impact on us all.

Over the past year, they have shown unwavering determination, resilience, and willpower, particularly during the intense exam period. We had the privilege of witnessing their growth, their ability to rise to challenges, and their personal and academic development.

Each of them brought something unique to our community β€” through their commitment, positive energy, and ambition, they became role models for their peers. Their time with us has been filled with meaningful connections, joyful moments, and unforgettable memories.

As they prepare to open a new chapter in their lives β€” university and beyond β€” we send them off with our warmest wishes for success and fulfillment. May they continue to believe in themselves, dream boldly, and pursue their goals with the same strength they have shown here.

Thank you for everything β€” and see you again soon on new paths!

Dinner in the house πŸ€—πŸ

On Tuesday night, we celebrated our last dinner in the house. We enjoyed a lovely American dinner, complete with burgers, fries, and, of course, chocolate donuts.

We shared some of our best memories from this year, and Kseniia and Sofiya gave their last tips to Ada to have a successful G11 and to fully enjoy her time in CDL.

Finding balance πŸ“š

This is the final weekend before exam season kicks off on Tuesday, and the girls have been deeply focused on their studies over the past few days. Still, finding a balance between study time and social breaks is essential for both well-being and academic success. Nonstop studying indoors can lead to burnout, decreased concentration, and rising stress levels.

Ada managed to find that ideal balance this weekend. She spent a few relaxing hours in Geneva with her friend, then returned home refreshed and ready for a productive afternoon and evening of studying.

🌿 Ascension Weekend at the Boarding House

Over the Pentecost long weekend, many of our boarders enjoyed a well-deserved break and took the chance to spend time with family or explore new places.

Ada spent the weekend in Lausanne with her father, taking in the sights and enjoying some quality family time.

Alejandra welcomed her family who flew in from Mexico and enjoyed discovering Geneva together.

Serena travelled to Manchester to reconnect with friends,

While Kseniia soaked up the sun and culture during a getaway to Malta.

Back at the Boarding House, Sofiya embraced the calm atmosphere, using the time to rest and try something new, she gave badminton a go and had lots of fun!

It’s always lovely to see how each student chooses to relax and recharge in their own way as we approach the final stretch of the school year. πŸ’«

🌟 End-of-Year Support & Wellbeing Challenge

As we move closer to the end of the school year, we know this can be a stressful time for many of you. Some are still in the middle of exams, while others are waiting for their final results. Whatever stage you’re at, it’s completely normal to feel a little overwhelmed.

To support you through this period, we’ve launched a Wellbeing Challenge this week, a fun and easy way to take care of your body and mind. Whether it’s through movement, mindfulness, or simply taking a break, small actions can make a big difference.

You’ve all made amazing progress this year. Keep going, you’re almost there, and we’re proud of you! πŸ’›

Sports Awards Recognition ⚽

On Monday afternoon, CDL hosted the Sports Awards Ceremony, where we recognise and celebrate the achievements of our students in different sports during the year.

Among all the winners, Manuela won an award as recognition of her motivation, dedication, and participation in the football team. Although Manuela is now in Brazil, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to celebrate her achievements.

Manuela was not only part of the school football team; she was also dedicated to her fitness journey, which took her to the Escalade Race in December and the Half-Marathon in May.

Well done, Manu! We are very proud of you!

Weekend recap πŸŒ§οΈπŸ§πŸšΆπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Weekends in boarding can be very busy for our students, especially if exams are approaching. But between resting, studying, and going to Geneva to disconnect, the girls also have time for some weekend activities!

Sofiya woke up early on Saturday, put on her apron, and headed to the Eiger kitchen to prepare some delicious blueberry muffins. Have a look at how she decorated the muffin, she is almost an expert in baking! On her side, Alejandra got ready with a friend and headed to one of her favourite places in Geneva, the Pilates Studio.

On Sunday, after having Brunch, Ada went to Stretching to relax and decompress after a busy week studying. And Kseniia, after an English private lesson, put on her walking shoes and went for her very long daily walk with her friend Sofiia.

Happy 18th birthday Manu πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³

Today we celebrate Manuela’s 18th birthday! Although she is not here with us as she had to go back to Brazil to prepare for the Vestibular, the Brazilian university entrance exam, we want to take the chance to wish her a wonderful day. We will make sure to celebrate here in Versoix with some cake!

Thank you Manu from bringing so much energy and good vibes to the house this year. Your commitment to everything you do is an example for our younger boarders and your motivation inspire us everyday. See you at graduation next month❀️
