Alejandra’s 17th birthday πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆ

Yesterday, we celebrated Alejandra’s 17th birthday! Although she spent most of the day surrounded by her friends and loved ones, we made sure to find a special moment to come together and celebrate at home.

And what better way to mark the occasion than with a little surprise? Since Alejandra’s favorite cake is banana bread, we decided to bake her a homemade banana bread with chocolateβ€”just the way she loves it!

Alejandra is a truly kind soul. She loves to help whenever she can. She can be very shy if she doesn’t know you, but once she feels comfortable with you she can be the funniest person in the room.

International Women’s Day ♀️

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day.

Today we celebrate all the women around the world who have to and are still fighting for their rights, and for social and labor equality.

Today we celebrate the amazing women who live in our house: Ada, Alejandra, Haruka, Kseniia, Manuela, Serena, and Sofiya. Thank you for fighting every day for your dreams and for what you believe in. Don’t ever let anyone stop you. We can’t be prouder to see the amazing women you are turning into.

Movie night πŸ“½οΈπŸΏ

There’s something special about a cozy movie night at home, and this one was extra memorable. We made our living room a snug haven, wrapping ourselves in blankets, slipping into fluffy socks, and getting comfortable for a night of relaxation. The movie of choice? Little Women β€” a timeless classic that had one of us particularly excited, as she had never seen it before.

Ada had never seen this movie before and, to challenge herself and improve her English, she decided to switch both the audio and subtitles to English, embracing the opportunity to practice her language skills while enjoying the movie.

As the credits rolled, we were left with warm hearts, grateful for the simple yet meaningful evening. Ada loved the movie but didn’t agree with the ending: Jo should have married Laurie!!

It was the kind of movie night that felt comforting, meaningful, and a reminder that sometimes the best way to unwind is with a classic film, good company, and a little language practice.

Kseniia’s 19th Birthday πŸŽˆπŸŽ‚

Kseniia celebrated her 19th birthday on March 1st, but due to the holidays and her mock exams, we couldn’t all celebrate together until today!

Kseniia is the eldest member of our household and has always been a source of love and protection for the other girls. With her infectious positive energy and countless stories, she’s the heart and soul of our home, always keeping us entertained. Her sense of humor is truly remarkable, and she has a gift for bringing joy and light to every room she enters.

We wish you all the best!

Ramadam

To all those celebrating Ramadam, we wish you a peaceful and joyful Ramadan. May this special month bring you moments of reflection, growth, and connection with loved ones.

πŸ¦‹πŸŒ· Welcome back πŸŒ»πŸ¦‹

During the winter break, some of the girls went back home and enjoyed a lovely time with family and friends.

Some others enjoyed skiing in the French Alps in Courchevel or in the Swiss Alps, in Crans Montana.

Now the weather is warmer, and spring and flowers are slowly coming out.

A quiet weekend for them for a smooth return with a beautiful sun.

Happy to see you again.

Happy Winter Break!

The house is empty and all the girls are en route to their holiday destination. Whether they are going home or on a ski trip, we are sure they will have time to disconnect, charge batteries, and enjoy their more than deserved break!

We will be waiting for them next week with our arms and ears open to hear all the stories and anecdotes from the week.

In the meantime, we wish you all a lovely break.

Haruka’s 18th birthday πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆ

Haruka’s 18th birthday is coming up on February 23rd! Since we’ll be on holiday that day, we’ve decided to celebrate a little early with a cozy pre-birthday party at home.

Haruka is a truly special student, radiating kindness in everything she does. Her warm heart creates a welcoming atmosphere, making those around her feel valued, listened and appreciated. With a wonderful sense of humor, she knows how to bring joy and laughter into any situation, brightening even the dullest of days.

Let’s make it special and send Haruka our warmest pre-birthday wishes!

Cooking Weekend

Cooking is one of the most requested activities in Ecureuil, especially when we are talking about pastries!

This Saturday Ada baked an ” Ile Flottante ” a typical French dessert, with crΓ¨me anglaise (also known as custard) and homemade caramel.

It might look like a difficult recipe but trust us, it’s pretty easy!Β  You only need to beat the egg and keep the yolk for the custard cream and mix it with milk, sugar, and vanilla, and is topped with homemade caramel for the final twist.

Ada had a lovely time with her friend Sophia baking this simple but incredible recipe.

❀️ Happy Valentine’s Day ❀️

Valentine’s Day might be for lovers, but not only!

Love is one of the most powerful words, able to unite people from everywhere in the world and in any situation. This is what we can find here at College du Leman.

Our students found a new family and took advantage of this Valentine’s Day to show love to each other. Friendship & links become stronger as they are far away from home, and they are making really good and important memories.
