What an exciting weekend it has been! The Champs-des-Bois boys set off Friday afternoon after school, ready to embrace the snowy mountain wonderland of Crans-Montana. Over the next two days, they enjoyed a whirlwind of activities, including skiing on pristine slopes, sledding with laughter, and ice skating on the glistening rink. Whether tackling the challenges of the slopes or sharing laughter during tumbles on the ice, the boys embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and energy.

Evenings brought their own charm. On Saturday night, an exploration of the town went underway, followed by a lively game of Bingo, which fostered plenty of joy. Every moment, from speeding downhill to simply admiring the breathtaking alpine scenery, was filled with excitement and awe.

This wonderful weekend wouldn’t have been possible without the Camps Department, whose thoughtful planning made the trip a resounding success. As the boys returned to Versoix on Sunday evening, they were tired yet deeply gratified – full of appreciation for an action packed adventure and some unforgettable memories.

As we wrap up the last week of school before the winter break, the gents from CDB and the ladies from Terray joined forces for an epic Kahoot Table Quiz Night. The event was packed with energy, excitement, and a healthy dose of friendly competition – and some class prizes to boot, which didnt go amiss! Students and staff came together to celebrate the season, showcasing their trivia skills while sharing laughs and fun.

I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated and brought such amazing enthusiasm to the evening—you made it truly brilliant!! The energy in the room was electric, and it was incredible to see everyone cheering each other on and enjoying themselves. A special shoutout goes to Mike, whose support made this night possible.

This year’s boarding Winter Ball was a fantastic experience for everyone in CDB. The event brought our house and the CDL boarding community together for a night full of fun, with food, music, dancing, and good company. It was great to see everyone enjoy themselves, as it was to see so many smiles and shared moments on the dance floor.

A big thank you to Mike and everyone who helped organise the event and make it a success. We also would like to give a mention to appreciate all those who spent time with the kids, helping them have a memorable evening. It was a wonderful way to bring the house together and celebrate the season!

Today we were able to attend CDL’s Winter Show, which was a brilliant experience. CDB’s own Manamitsu performed beautifully with the string orchestra. His dedication to refining his musical talent throughout the semester shone brightly on stage.

The evening was nothing short of amazing; showcasing an impressive standard of artistry and passion from such young talented students. Well done to everyone who took part, and a massive thank you to everyone who came together to help organise this opportuinity.

Did you know that Geneva once faced a night full of bravery? In the Champs des Bois, we shared the following story with the our little kings, and they loved it!

Over 400 years ago, in December 1602, soldiers tried to invade Geneva, but the brave citizens fought back. Legend says a woman called Mère Royaume helped defend the city by throwing a pot of hot soup at the invaders, waking everyone to protect their home.

Every year, we celebrate this heroic night with costumes, parades, and the famous chocolate cauldron. This year, we got to smash one ourselves—and let’s be honest, breaking it to eat the chocolate was our favorite part!

The Escalade is a special way to remember Geneva’s courage and unity—made even sweeter with chocolate and Donny leading the attack to the cauldron! 🍫

This evening the cooking team prepared Massaman Chicken, Beef Thai Basil, Shrimp with Vegetables in Oyster Sauce, and a delicious Coconut Rice Pudding roll for dessert.

Did you know Thailand is known as the “Land of Smiles” because of its warm and welcoming culture? It’s also home to over 40,000 temples and the famous floating markets!

Our Thai student, Nuttakit, was excited to talk about their traditions, and everyone listened to it carefully—it was aroi mak!
