What Are You Thankful For? – A New Weekly Tradition!

Dear all,

Today, we introduced a new activity called “What Are You Thankful For?”, where we gathered everyone together and asked them to share one thing they felt grateful for this week—no matter how small.

To get things started, we gave a few examples: the sunny days we’ve had, playing football together, or simply feeling happier after the holidays. Some students took inspiration from these, but we also heard some really thoughtful responses. Many shared how much they’ve laughed recently (apparently, our House Parents have stepped up their “bad joke” game, and it’s paying off), how happy they feel with their friends, or how proud they are of their good test results.

Since the result was very positive, we’ve decided to make it a weekly tradition! Every week, each student will share one thing that made them happy—because sometimes, focusing on the small moments of joy can make them bigger.

China at Collège du Léman

Dear all,

Tonight, we got to enjoy some classic Chinese dishes at dinner. The menu included Shrimp fritters, Beef sautéed with onions, Chinese noodles, and Stir-fried vegetables with tofu. Everything was fresh and tasty!

Did you know China is home to the world’s longest wall and the busiest train system? It’s also where noodles have been eaten for over 4,000 years!

Our Chinese students were happy to see familiar flavors on their plates!

Weekend Life at Its Best

Dear all,

And just like that, another weekend has flown by at Champs-des-Bois, leaving behind a trail of laughter, adventure, and well-deserved relaxation. The boys enjoyed the perfect balance of activities, from playing an epic game of hide and seek in Olympus to unwinding during cosy movie nights in the boarding house.

Saturday brought the excitement of a trip to Geneva, where the boys explored the city’s charm.. Closer to home, the local ice rink in Versoix became a hub of joy as they spent hours skating, sharing laughs, and showing off their best (and sometimes wobbly!) moves. Whether exploring or enjoying simple moments together, the weekend was yet another reminder of the fun and camaraderie that defines life at Champs-des-Bois.

Maple Dream: Canadian Dinner

Dear all,

Tonight, we enjoyed a delicious Canadian-inspired dinner! The menu featured a hearty dish of potatoes with tender beef in a rich gravy, followed by fluffy pancakes topped with syrup and chocolate for dessert. It was a comforting meal that everyone loved.

Did you know Canada is the second-largest country in the world and produces most of the world’s maple syrup? It’s a country known for its warm hospitality and love for good food!

Our Canadian students were happy to see their culture on the table!

Snow Much Fun in Crans-Montana!

Dear all,

What an exciting weekend it has been! The Champs-des-Bois boys set off Friday afternoon after school, ready to embrace the snowy mountain wonderland of Crans-Montana. Over the next two days, they enjoyed a whirlwind of activities, including skiing on pristine slopes, sledding with laughter, and ice skating on the glistening rink. Whether tackling the challenges of the slopes or sharing laughter during tumbles on the ice, the boys embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and energy.

Evenings brought their own charm. On Saturday night, an exploration of the town went underway, followed by a lively game of Bingo, which fostered plenty of joy. Every moment, from speeding downhill to simply admiring the breathtaking alpine scenery, was filled with excitement and awe.

This wonderful weekend wouldn’t have been possible without the Camps Department, whose thoughtful planning made the trip a resounding success. As the boys returned to Versoix on Sunday evening, they were tired yet deeply gratified – full of appreciation for an action packed adventure and some unforgettable memories.
