The Thrilling Adventure of Boarding Life

Dear all,
Life in a boarding school is something really special. Itā€™s not just about classes and homework, but about creating memories that stay with you forever. You get to share your everyday life with students your age from all over the world, and that makes it such an enriching experience. The mix of different cultures and backgrounds helps you see things from new perspectives and learn so much from each other.
There are also so many opportunities to grow outside of class, with extracurricular activities, sports, and fun events. Whether itā€™s music, art, sports, or leadership programs, everyone gets the chance to explore what they love. And letā€™s not forget about the weekend trips and excursions, where you can relax, have fun, and bond with friends while discovering new places.
What makes all of this even better is the sense of being part of a family. Today, we want to show you how the students experience this life, what they think about it, and most importantly, why they love being part of the CDL boarding family.

Australian Dinner!

Dear all,

Today, we had the pleasure of sharing Australian food. We enjoyed a meal featuring Australian lamb, sweet potatoes, and zucchini.

Did you know that Australia is home to some of the most unique wildlife on the planet? About 80% of its animals canā€™t be found anywhere else, including kangaroos, koalas, and the platypus. And when it comes to food, Australians love a good barbecueā€”grilling meat and veggies is a big part of their food culture, bringing people together for relaxed outdoor meals.

Looking Back: What Made Our Boys Smile!

Dear all,

At the end of todayā€™s House Meeting, we asked the boys to share something memorable about the past few months at Champs des Bois and schoolā€”whatever came to mind first. And letā€™s say the answers did not dissapoint.

Paul David gave us a heartwarming one, saying heā€™s really proud of the friendships heā€™s built in the house and how comfortable ā¤ļø he feels with everyone.

Jin, on the other hand, went straight to Friday night pizza talks. He loves coming to the office with the House Parents, grabbing a slice, and asking about ā€œadult lifeā€ once you finish going to the school. šŸ•

Xingyu kept it realā€”heā€™s just grateful for the occasional šŸ„¤ Coca-Cola. Priorities.

And then thereā€™s Chika, who made us all feel like we shouldā€™ve paid more attention in science class. Heā€™s thankful for the chance to keep learning about science with us, even though sometimes we try (but donā€™t always succeed) in answering his endless šŸ”¬ questions.

Itā€™s been amazing to see what really matters to each of them, and we feel very proud of them for being able to express it.

Puzzle Completed: Record-Time!

Dear all,

As I told you on Monday, our puzzle challenge didnā€™t last longā€¦ because the kids finished it in less than a day! Yesterday afternoon, the final piece was placed, such a record-time completion.

To our surprise, the puzzle looks incredible in the dark! If you turn off the lights, you’ll see something amazing. Look below!

Champ(ion)s des Bois: November Fitness Challenge Results!

Dear all,

Weā€™re so proud to announce that Jin and Kimi brought home the gold šŸ„‡ and silver šŸ„ˆ in the November Fitness Challenge! They were the top two students with the most challenge wins across all of Boarding. During last Wednesdayā€™s Boarding Assembly, they received their well-deserved trophies and were also chosen to receive some new sports equipment!

But thatā€™s not allā€”Mr. Sergio was the winner of the Staff category! The challenge was divided between Students and Staff, and we all showed everyone how itā€™s done!

Congratulations to Jin, Kimi, and Mr. Sergio!

Last Weekend Before the Break!

Dear all,

Weā€™ve had such a great weekend! On Saturday, the kid stayed active with activities like tennis and running. Jin was (not) surprisingly fast šŸƒā€ā™‚ļø

During the afternoon, Xingyu, Chika and Donny went grocery shopping to ensure that the end of the school period before the break was full of snacks and tea’s!

But the highlight of the weekend came today! Many of the boys joined their friends to watch Inside Out, and they loved it.

Flowers and Friends at Champs des Bois!

Last Friday was Valentineā€™s Day, and Champs des Bois was full of roses! The boys had fun giving and receiving flowers from their friends, showing how much they care about each other (as a House Parents, we received some roses too šŸ„°).

Mana was especially cute! He was so happy cutting the stems and arranging his roses in a vase we had at the house. He really took his time to make sure they looked perfect.
