Leaving Our Mark🎨

Dear all,

As the year comes to a close, the boys marked our time together with a simple heartfelt art project—pressing their painted hands onto a shared canvas. (I think it is safe to say the ensuing chaos goes without saying!) It’s a colorful reminder of the bonds we’ve built since August. 🖌️

A Chill Yet Fun Weekend at Champs des Bois 🌤️

Dear all,

This weekend at Champs des Bois was a welcome break—our first with no scheduled activities—giving everyone a chance to rest and recharge before the end of the year rush.

Still, that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves, as we kicked things off with a bit of football, had some relaxed time playing around the house, and spent hours splashing in the pool. That is, until a huge thunderstorm rolled in and sent us scurrying for cover!

Now we wait for the results, but we’re already so proud of how well they played and how confidently they performed. 🌟

A huge congratulations to both of them for their hard work and dedication. Well done, guys!

Brazilian Night!

Dear all,

Last Wednesday we enjoyed a fantastic barbecue in Concha, and the food had a delicious Brazilian touch. On the table, we had a Brazilian salad with corn, avocado, and tomato—fresh and full of flavor. Then came the star of the evening: Feijoada, a traditional stew with pork or chicken, rich and hearty. To cool things down, there was also some gazpacho, which was perfect for the warm weather.

Feijoada is one of Brazil’s most iconic dishes, usually made with black beans and different cuts of meat. It’s a dish that brings people together, often served during big family or community meals. Fun fact: Brazil is home to over 4 million Portuguese speakers in São Paulo alone—it’s the biggest Portuguese-speaking city in the world!

Burgers night!

Dear all,

Today we enjoyed some burgers as our last dinner at home of the year.
To go with them, we had fries, and some toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion. For dessert, some chocolate doughnuts.

A fun fact about this classic American food:
The best burger in the world in 2024, according to the international ranking The World’s Best Burgers, is the Singular from the Spanish chain Hundred Burgers. This award, considered the equivalent of a “Michelin Guide” for burgers, has been given for the first time to a non-American burger joint, highlighting the quality and craftsmanship of Hundred Burgers.

A Slice of Summer

Dear all,

While our Middle Schoolers were off on their cycling adventure around Lac Léman, life on campus was anything but quiet. With the summer breeze in the air, how could it be?

On Saturday, the boys of CDB and the girls of Terray rolled up their sleeves for some baking fun, followed by a shopping trip into Versoix. The day wrapped up perfectly with a cosy Movie Night. Sunday brought a splash of excitement—literally—as everyone headed to the Concha Swimming Pool for a refreshing and laughter-filled afternoon.

To cap off the weekend, we created a beautiful montage of memories from the past year. Soon to be displayed in our hallway, it’s a heartfelt tribute to the moments we’ve shared and the journey we’ve taken together.

American Dinner!

Dear all,

Tonight, we enjoyed an American-themed dinner, and it definitely hit the spot. We had pork and chicken ribs, nicely marinated and full of flavor, along with breaded jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese for a spicy little kick. On the side, there were rosemary roasted baby potatoes, coleslaw, and Caesar salad. And of course, we finished with ice cream for dessert!

American cuisine brings together influences from all over the world, with regional styles from places like the South, the Midwest, or the coasts. Barbecue ribs are a great example—slow-cooked and full of smoky flavor, they’re a favorite in many U.S. states.

Did you know the U.S. has over 600,000 restaurants? It’s a country where food trends spread fast, but comfort food like ribs, potatoes, and salads always stays strong.
