Wellbeing Pillar 2!

In tonight’s Boarding Assembly and in CDB Family Meeting we introduced the children to our second wellbeing pillar.

We will be diving in to Protecting against bullying and Promoting diversity. We have some fantastic children’s books that the children will be reading over the next weeks, there is a lot the children can learn and at the end they will be able to spread their knowledge and open people eyes.

November Rain

Cold morning here in lovely Switzerland and today was a rainy one as well. We made sure to have our raincoats on and huddled under our umbrellas on the way to school. Remember to wrap up warm everybody!

Fun in the Tree Tops!

We had a massive amount of fun climbing and zipping from tree to tree this Sunday! Well done to everyone, it took some real physical effort on some of the obstacles and also was pretty high up off the ground!

Skateboard Workshop

Here’s how the progress is going. This is a little project that Liam has been putting together, he was recently gifted an old skateboard and has had the lovely idea to upcycle it and try to sell it to raise money for charity. On our way through this journey Concha Blanca Boarding House was kind enough to gift us 2 more old battered skateboards. We got straight to work at sanding them down to strip all of the old paint off and we spent this afternoon getting very artsy! The children all came up with their own designs and the did a great job!

Here are the steps we took…

No Screens Before Bed Week

During this pillar, one of the things we’re most proud of the children for is the great week we just had. It was our ”No screens before bed week” The children chose activities they would like to do instead of watching an episode of a cartoon before bed. We put these options in a hat and picked one out every evening.
On Monday we all did some reading from our lovely home library in Champs des Bois, Tuesday we had a board-games night and all played a wonderful memory game together, Wednesday we had social hour on campus with the other Boarding Houses, Thursday the children went for another social hour in the evening and on Friday we set up a ”skateboard shop”. We helped Liam strip down old skateboards that we have now painted as pieces of artwork, Liam plans to sell these artistic boards to raise money for charity. Well done to all of you!
