Chill Reading Sessions 📖

Dear all,

What’s stood out recently is how wisely the boys have begun to use their time. With evenings often swept up by activities or unexpected changes, they’ve started making intentional choices during the day—especially during study hall—to stay on top of things and keep growing.

Rather than letting busy days be an excuse, they’re using their initiative to make the most of quiet moments, often turning to books once assignments are done. It’s not about having more time—it’s about using the time they do have well. Reading, for now, may still feel like a chore, but slowly they’ll be all grown up and look back with a smile, realising how special it was to have the freedom to read what they wanted, right at the moment when they were “meant” to be studying!

Making Safe and Responsible Choices: Understanding Empathy

Dear all,

This evening we continued Wellbeing Pillar 5: Making Safe and Responsible Choices: Understanding Empathy

At the heart of making safe and responsible choices lies empathy — the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. This week, the session aimed to deepen students’ understanding of empathy as more than just a feeling, but as a powerful tool that helps build stronger relationships and communities. By truly stepping into someone else’s shoes, students learn to make choices that are kinder, safer, and more responsible.

Empathy is the first step toward creating a supportive environment where everyone feels seen and respected. It’s a skill worth practicing every day.

Thank you to Mr. Manu and Mrs. Sophie for their dedicated delivery of these lessons to the Junior Houses. The younger students, who need this guidance most during such a crucial stage of their lives, truly benefited from their efforts.

Japan Night 🍱🍜🥢

Dear all,

This evening we were priviliged to take a flavorful journey to Japan with a special Japan-themed International Dinner Night. The event let us experience the richness of Japanese cuisine and culture in a vibrant, festive setting. The atmosphere was lively and warm, with everyone sharing in the excitement and discovery.

The food was delicious and the themed evening a treat. So, it was a quick “itadakimasu” before the meal and a very quickl follow-up of “oishii!” to express just how tasty everything was.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. Arigatou gozaimashita! 🌸

Running for a Cause: Research for Thyroid Cancer

Dear all,

Yesterday, the students of Champs des Bois laced up their running shoes and took to the track for a special cause. They participated in a charity run aimed at raising funds for Thyroid Cancer Research.

Guided by Mr. Alex, the group ran together for an hour and a half, demonstrating their commitment to supporting those affected by thyroid cancer. The event was not just about physical endurance but also about fostering awareness and contributing to a meaningful cause.

We are incredibly proud of our kids for their enthusiasm and dedication to making a difference. Their participation exemplifies the spirit of community and the importance of coming together to support vital causes.

Turkish Dinner!

Dear all,

Tonight, we enjoyed a Turkish dinner at CDL. The mix of flavors, spices, and textures gave us a real sense of Turkey’s rich food culture. It was warm, tasty, and everyone around the table was happy.

Turkish cuisine is known for its variety—fresh vegetables, grilled meats, rice dishes, and lots of herbs and spices. Meals often start with meze (small appetizers) and end with something sweet, like baklava or a strong cup of Turkish tea. Sharing is a big part of Turkish food tradition—it’s all about enjoying the moment together.

Did you know that Turkey sits on two continents—Europe and Asia? That’s why its cuisine blends so many influences, from Mediterranean to Middle Eastern and Central Asian. Also, the country is one of the biggest producers of hazelnuts and cherries in the world!

Midweek Treats – Dinner at Home

Dear all,

The boys were treated to something extra special today — a delicious fusion of flavours that brought big smiles all around. We kicked things off with a beautiful Italian lasagna and salad prepared by the amzing cooking team in the Leman Cafeteria, paired perfectly with a rich touch of Raclette goodness, courtesy of our very own Mr. Andrés. To top it all off, we wrapped up with a well-deserved ice cream outing.

It’s important to savour the little joys in life whenever and wherever we can. And with the sun shining down on us today, we thought — why not? A perfect day for a shared meal, good company, and great vibes.

An unforgettable weekend: BBQ, biking, and great company

Dear all,

This weekend was a bit different as we gathered for a BBQ at Terray and Champs de Bois, all together in the CDB garden. We had a great time enjoying music, bacon cheeseburgers, sausages, steaks, and some typical Spanish snacks. It was a perfect afternoon to relax and spend quality time with everyone.

In addition to the BBQ, we also went for a bike ride as part of our training for the upcoming bike trip around the lake. It was a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather, which seems to be here to stay.

We’re sharing some photos from the amazing weekend we had. Enjoy!
