Photo Competition
As part of the ongoing Boarding House competitions last week we were challenged to capture a photograph with the theme ‘Internationalism’.
The brilliant mind of Hadi came up with the idea of spelling out our guiding principles R.I.S.E. Which stands for Respect, Internationalism, Spirit and Excellence. But also using our flags to show the 19 different countries we come from.
See our results below.

Ski Weekend in Crans Montana
We had a fantastic weekend up in Crans Montana. The whole boarding community went together to have a Swiss Alp experience. The snow fall was wonderful and a great time was had by all. We stayed in La Moubra and the students had a choice of skiing, snow boarding or staying at camp and doing activities. It was a great experience for some of the students who had not seen snow before and the conditions were excellent for the experienced skiers.
Christmas Dance
Please enjoy some of the photos showing the Christmas Dance we had on Saturday. This was a joyful experience and one that will hopefully hold fond memories for all.
Boarding Award Ceremony
Yesterday we had our Boarding Award Ceremony to celebrate some of the Academic achievements made this term. We also acknowledged those in each house which showed outstanding enthusiasm, motivation, and involvement in the Boarding Activity program. Our last category was Boarding Life, for those who exhibited all the qualities we would wish for in a global citizen and who are good role models through their actions within the boarding community.
From Leman 1, winning the Activity Awards were Zhaoxiong and Anastas. These boys enthusiastically participate in the afternoon activity schedule along with enjoying the sports facilities on offer during social time in the evenings. They also eagerly participate in the weekend program, taking advantage of the trips on offer or the activities offered. Both can be seen throughout our previous blogs posts taking part in these activities.
Winning the Boarding Life award were Murad and Vladimir. Both these boys are polite, respectful, and courteous to both their peers and staff. They are held in high regards amongst their peers. They have participated in our House meetings and engage well in our activity program. They are happy and willing to assist the House Parents and often take on extra responsibilities within the house.
Well done to these outstanding students.
Hiking with Huskies
Mahan and I were in the same group and we asked them to give us the strongest huskie they had. As we walked through the forest it started to snow and that was the first snow we saw in Switzerland. It was really cold weather but the huskies felt in their natural habitat and kept pulling us harder and harder. When they saw their owner (our leader) they jumped towards her in excitement. We had lots of fun and made really good use of our Sunday
CDL coming to a city near you.

My Trip to Grottes de Vallorbe
Today I went to Jurapark and Grotes de Vallorbe. First we arrived to the cave which was cold inside. The cave was made by stalactites from calcium. And they are growing every day. The caves were amazing. When we finished the trip of the cave system I saw lots of different types of stone. I can feel the power from nature, they were really beautiful. After the caves we went to Jurapark. We could see the bears were sleeping in the forest. They looked funny. I loved this trip but the highlight was finding some Pokemon balls.

Our Trip to Lausanne
My name is Amirreza, I am 16 from Iran and I am living in Leman 1.
Last Thursday it was a sunny day and we went to Lausanne because it was a holiday. Lausanne is next to the lake and there was a lot of clothes shops. Some people went to shoppping and so did I. After that we got into the bus and went to the Olympics museum and ate our lunch outside. After that we went inside to see what there was. I was interested in a wall that had all the Olympic torches on it. The earlier torches are designed simple but the newer torches are designed modern. There was a place with all the flags of the countries and I tried to find my country flag which is Iran. I was also interested in the bicycles which were beautiful and I took a picture for you.
