Even if its cold outside we still continue doing our activities. One of our favourites is playing football in the balloon, we enjoy it very much and each week more and more people are coming to play with us. We are happy that we have this activity!
Special effects
This term, I have started a new activity – Special Effects, conducted by the specialists from Studio 41. This term we have started doing such interesting stuff as fake cuts, bites and even creating our own fake hand. The instructors are nice and amiable and maybe because of that, even though this art is not easy to master, we are doing it pretty well. Such a class is totally different from what we usually do and that is why I like it very much.
Happy New Year and Welcome Back
Hello everybody!
Mr Moretto here. I hope you enjoyed your holidays with your families and friends as much as I have. Here are a couple of photos of mine: two princesses on a rollercoaster in London and a little tyke performing Harry Potter with her brand new magic wand!
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday
Mr Moretto
Happy Birthday Aslan !!!
Happy holidays everybody!
Oh what a night!
On Friday, CdB boys had an amazing night. Starting to get prepared for the night, we already felt like the christmas dance was going to be an extraordinary experience. We started to walk to the limousine which waited for us at the back of the Cervin building. The music started to enter our body and we all started to dance and sing. It was an incredible feeling. We then stopped to take some pictures and then continued our trip, ending at Kempinsky. We entered the dining hall. Everything was so elegant and graceful. We went to our table and started to talk about random things, joke, laugh and enjoy ourself. We then ate very tasty food and watched the Kavkaz boys dance lezginka. Then the music started again and we came together and danced on the dance floor. We had a beautiful night at the Christmas dance and we hope that next year it will be the same.
Double champions!
Last week we went to Le Rosey school to watch CdL play football in the finals of a tournament of international schools in our area. We were in both finals and we won both of them!!!
From our house Gio and Jia Hao were playing in the first match, we saw the second half. It was very exciting, it went to extra time and Karim from Leman scored in the last minute! The varsity game was also great to watch and ended up being successful for us – what an evening!
It was very cold standing at the side of the game but the energy from the players made it well worth going.
!!! WELL DONE EVERYBODY !!!
Here are some of the boys training earlier in the year.
Christmas presents
As Christmas is coming we decorated our tree in our house – it is looking great! Decorating it together was fun.
The presents in the picture are for a charity that the school helps every year. They will go to under-privileged children in Europe. The school has collected around 300 boxes and a lot of them are from the boarding houses. It feels great to help other children in need.
I hope they will have a great Christmas!
…and you too!
Venus
The days are getting shorter and shorter, and nights are getting longer. Yesterday evening at 17:30 when we were making our way to study hall, we saw something really beautiful shining up in the sky. It turned up to be the planet Venus. Its really bright, so you could easily notice it in the sky. It’s isolated and seems to be shining alone in the sky as the first star to come out. Everyone who lives near to Switzerland will be able to see it, and they will enjoy looking at it for sure – look to the South West in the very early evening. It was great today because the skies were so clear.
Meet the teachers / Tuck shop
Today the weather has been really bad for us, and furthermore tomorrow we have the parent teacher conference. How lucky we are!
On the bright side, the tuck shop is finally open! A tuck shop is simply a shop for the boarding students that is inside the boarding house. It allows us to have some snacks and drinks without leaving the house! And it is also much cheaper than grenier where the students usually buy.
