The final weekend of the school year!

Last weekend marked the final weekend of the academic year, with many of our boys leaving CDL and heading home to take on new challenges and to have some rest and relaxation. This, however, does not mean that this weekend was a disappointing or subdued occasion; Great fun was had as our boys took on many of our usual activities for one last time before the summer, and the end-of-year party in the Concha garden provided an opportunity for students leaving in the coming days an excellent opportunity to spend a moment with their friends one more time before the holiday.

The Flavours of Singapore!

This week, for our last meal in the series of international dinners that we have been lucky to eat this year, our wonderful dining team brought the delightful flavours of Singapore to the Collège du Léman dining room! Savoury chicken, soft noodles with beef and fragrant rice were on the menu for us today, as was a delicious Singaporean chocolate cake! The food was, as always, impeccable and our boys enjoyed being able to share one last experience with all of their peers in the same place sampling food from around the world and sharing stories and summer plans. The series of international dinners will be sorely missed by us all, however it was a pleasure to finish with such a delightful meal! We would like to thank our dining team for consistently providing us all with some incredibly good meals and keeping our boys well-fed so they can perform at their best. We hope you enjoyed your last international dinner, boys!

The final game of the Tournament!

What a match! The annual showdown between the Staff and Team Leman delivered everything we hoped for passion, intensity, and non-stop action from kickoff to the final whistle.

The Leman boys came out swinging, showing heart, hustle, and incredible teamwork. Every goal they scored sparked energy through the crowd, and they battled fiercely until the very end. But this year, the Staff came prepared and determined. With sharp passes, clever plays, and relentless pressure, they managed to edge out the win in a thrilling 7–4 victory.

Massive respect to both sides for putting on such an electric performance. Team Leman — your effort and spirit were nothing short of inspiring. Staff –  enjoy the win… but don’t get too comfortable. The rematch is already on our minds.

Thank you to all the players who made this match unforgettable. Same time next year — we’re ready!

Graduation events begin!

Today we had the Leavers’ assembly. Mr Usher opened the ceremony with a speech, all the graduates of the boarding school came on stage one by one to collect their leavers book along with a memento of their time at CDL and the yearbook. We then moved to Concha’s garden where a cocktail awaited us. After a couple of photos in the photobooth the soon to be graduates left to get ready and enjoy the PROM.

The flavours of Brazil!

This week, in one of our last international dinners, our amazing dining team took us on a culinary trip to Brazil! Tender pork feijoada, crispy chicken, fluffy rice and a delicious pineapple salad were all on the menu, providing us with some excellent insights into the flavours and culinary practices of Brazil. As well as being the home of various excellent things including joga bonita, the Amazon rainforest and the incredible Christ the Redeemer statue, Brazil is host to a broad array of ingredients and numerous complex and deep flavours, some of which we discovered today. The boys ate in the evening sun on the lawns of the Concha boarding house, enjoying the cool summer breeze, catching up with peers and sharing stories and future plans. We hope you enjoyed your dinner, boys!

Ticino trip

Our wonderful trio of students composed by Oscar, Samuel and Kelly, set off on a memorable long weekend to Ticino, the Italian speaking canton of Switzerland. Blessed with good weather and temperature, their adventure began on Saturday with an interesting visit to Lugano, the biggest city in Ticino, followed by the tour of Swissminiatur, a unique museum which allows to explore over 130 detailed miniatures of Swiss wonders, handcrafted by artisans. Later on, the group participated in an unforgettable karting experience under the rain, followed in the evening by a dinner at a proper Italian pizzeria.
On Sunday, a smooth ride up Monte Brè with the funicular gifted us with breath taking panoramic view of the Lugano Lake and surrounding mountains. After descending, the unique Falconeria gifted an incredible show with all sorts of magnificent birds flying over our heads. The day was concluded at the Splash and Spa waterpark, where Oscar, Samuel and Kelly had fun going through thrilling slides and relaxed at the external pool under a beautiful sky.
With memories made and hearts full, they made their way back to campus, already dreaming of their next adventure.

Burgers night at home

The exam week has already started for some of our boys, the end of term is approaching and tonight we had the last dinner at home. We celebrated the end of term and wished them the best of luck for their exams.
We had burgers with chips and doughnuts, a very American dinner.
Good luck guys!

A warm and fun-filled weekend!

This weekend, despite some challenges brought by the rain, the Leman boys enjoyed a series of excellent activities during this (ongoing) long weekend. Tennis, Gardening, Boxing and Basketball were all on the menu for the boys this weekend and were greatly enjoyed! Though, at times, the stormy weather threatened to ruin the weekend, some long, sunshine-filled hours also allowed our boys to relax and catch up with each other outside the boarding house.

International Dinner: United States!

This week, our wonderful dining team took the Leman Boarding House on a culinary tour of the US; Sticky pork ribs, tender chicken thighs and a sweet and smoky barbecue source were the highlight of the menu, as well as some delicious stuffed peppers and crispy roast potatoes! The United States is a well-known culinary destination and is home to delectable barbecued foods, as well as a range of other international cuisines. The first mention of a barbecue in US history was in 1672, showing the integral role of barbecue in North American culinary culture. Our boys took great pleasure in enjoying the historic flavours of these dishes and enjoyed the opportunity to catch up and share exam stories with their peers. We hope you enjoyed your dinner, boys!

Runners vs Riders

In an exciting showdown between speed and endurance, the Riders vs Runners race ended with a clear victory for the riders. Held over a challenging mixed-terrain course, both teams pushed their limits, but the riders’ speed and efficiency on the straights and hills proved unbeatable. Despite a strong showing from the runners, who displayed incredible stamina and grit, the riders crossed the finish line several minutes ahead, claiming the win and sparking friendly debate about who truly rules the road.
