Happy Birthday Aryan and many more to come!
This weekend we had a lot of activities as usual. Our boys have decided to participate in tennis, cooking sushi, climbing, running, basketball, boxing, Pilates and eSports. Some of them are still trying Pilates or boxing and seem to like it because they keep returning. In eSports, they continue to train in both Fortnite and Fifa.
Saturday was a stunning day; we could take advantage of the lake and do water activities. Our guys were able to participate in the banana boat and they had a good laugh with the falls of their friends and seeing how long they lasted in the curves of the ship.
The 22nd of April was Mother Earth Day and in Boarding we wanted to do our bit for this cause. This year the initiative was the Boarding vs plastic. Therefore, in the video, you can find some very interesting and shocking facts about the issue.
It’s time to protect our world and get down to work to clean it up and take care of it.
Today we celebrated the birthday of one of our boys, Jason.
We are very excited that this year he had the experience of a birthday in Leman.
From all of us at Leman: Happy birthday and we hope you had a wonderful day.
This Easter break, we set off on an exciting adventure to Tanzania. Our first week was joined by fellow students from various Nord Anglia Schools and took part in a lot of meaningful activities. We rolled up our sleeves and contributed to the community by helping construct a school, goat sheds, and installing solar lighting. The sense of accomplishment we felt, knowing our efforts made a tangible difference, was truly heartwarming.
The thrill continued as we ventured on a safari, coming within an astonishing five meters of a wild lion! It was equally thrilling to forge new friendships with students from other schools, sharing stories and experiences that enriched our journey.
The second week offered us a needed rest on the sun-soaked beaches of Zanzibar. After the rewarding yet exhausting first week, we embraced this time to celebrate our hard work. Diving into the local history and engaging with the Zanzibar community added layers of fun and learning to our relaxation.
Reflecting on our time in Tanzania, it’s clear that this journey was not just a trip but a profound life experience that will remain with us forever. It was truly an amazing adventure.

This weekend, despite the uncertain weather, we were able to enjoy a spring weekend full of activities.
As usual, we had tennis, climbing, running club, chess club, eSports club and cooking. This weekend, it was time to make cupcakes. We again had the opportunity to practice our baskets in Basketball and as a new addition, we had boxing, which the kids really enjoyed.
This weekend was the last weekend of the ski club, our boys are sad, but they thoroughly enjoyed it and made new memories with their friends in Verbier.
As a special activity, some of them went to the spa to relax at the end of the semester, which was as relaxing and enjoyable as it should be.
It was also time to rehearse and put the finishing touches in the drama club for Tuesday’s premiere performance at Boarding!
This weekend has been another full weekend of activities, clubs and fun. Our boys have been able to play tennis, cook with the chef, climb the indoor climbing wall, participate in the running club, and even practice a bit of basketball. On Sunday, we again had the opportunity to enjoy the snow in Verbier with the ski club, where they had a great time. As usual, they participated in the eSports club where they play Fortnite and Fifa, practicing against each other in tournaments, and in the Chess Club where they continued to improve their strategies. As a special activity they have made an escape room, some have been fast enough and others have been at the gates of finishing it and escaping.
Last weekend, Apollo, Ignacy and I went on a “trip” to Vienna. It was not only a trip but also for the maths competition ISMTF. On Saturday, we spent our whole day in Vienna university with a lot of people from other international schools. We did both individual and team rounds. The competition was very intense as we have to solve 5 problems in 10 minutes. When the result was being released, we hold our breath. Apollo and I both got Top 10 out of 195! We were so happy to have this result in our first year. It was such a great experience!
This weekend we had our usual activities again. Our boys took part in tennis, climbing and horse riding. They also went to running, chess, history and drama clubs. This weekend there was also ski club, this time they went to Verbier. New this weekend was the eSports club where several of them got together to play Fortnite and Fifa as a team. As you can see, we have activities for everyone. The boys have had time to rest and enjoy their last weekend before the holidays.
This weekend, the Leman boys had to split up in two different locations. The juniors of the house went back to Leysin where they could continue to enjoy winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, etc. In addition, they had the opportunity to go to a spa where they could relax during the afternoon and also had fun at the toboggan park, what a lot of laughs they had!
The seniors could go to Crans Montana, where they enjoyed skiing and snowboarding.
They had a great time and enjoyed this weekend off campus!
We bring you the winter edition of The Philosophy Society.
In it, you will be able to read opinions expressed by students and address different topics. Have a look at it!
Besides, Otabek, a boy from Léman, is the chairman of this society.
After the first week of classes, we have reached the weekend and the boys have been able to enjoy the activities on the campus. As always we had our hours of tennis, climbing, horse riding and cooking class with the chef, where this time they cooked cordon bleu and mashed potatoes. As a special activity, they had Laser Tag. Leman played against Olympus, where they drew. So, we will have to see in another field to have a tiebreaker and a winner.
Last Saturday, Liusen took part in a fencing tournament in Martigny. The team won the bronze medal which made us very proud. This has only just begun however our Leman boy has shown immense dedication and we are very happy to see him back in tournaments perfecting his art. We look forward to seeing how his fencing year continues …
Today, 3rd of December, is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and advocates have suggested an initiative. The other day students had to send in their suggestions to improve the houses, now they have to post the suggestions they gave around the house. This way they are all aware of the barriers that people with disabilities can encounter in their daily routine.
In this cold weekend that we have had in CDL there have been activities where the boys of Leman have participated. As always we have some of them who have continued to improve their tennis or climbing or horse riding or woodwork skills. They have also continued to participate in the history and chess clubs. As we have entered December and it will soon be Christmas, this weekend it was time to visit the Christmas market in Montreux, one of the most wonderful in Europe.
This week from the advocates of the second pillar came an initiative related to people with disabilities. The boys from Leman had to think how to improve the house for a disabled partner. They have come up with ideas for people with reduced mobility, visual and hearing impairment, etc.
We are still looking for suggestions to make the boarding school more inclusive!
On Wednesday after dinner the first Christmas concert of the boarding school took place. Some of the pupils of the boarding school, although we could call them artists after what they did, played different instruments and sang Christmas songs. There were instrumental moments, sung songs accompanied by the guitar or the piano. We had the wonderful opportunity to see Adi, one of our Leman boys, playing the guitar to the song Snowman by Sia with a student from another house.
This afternoon, some of our boys have performed some plays where they conveyed messages related to current issues such as technology or the environment. Apart from making it very entertaining and making us enjoy it. It was wonderful how they performed on stage. It seems that we have some good actors among the Leman students.
This weekend, like every other weekend, we had activities such as tennis, swimming, climbing, horse riding and the running and history clubs. As an excursion, on Sunday they went to the Grand Parc d’Andilly – Christmas Park. Here they were able to stroll around the stalls with Christmas sweets, drinks and Christmas food or activities inspired by Christmas. They had a lot of fun and the decorations for this special time of the year are already visible.
Yesterday evening we started with the second Pillar of the Wellbeing Programme: Protecting against Bullying and Respecting Diversity. Adi, our Advocate of Leman, presented the challenge related to Race and Ethnicity. Our boys have to find the similarities they have with their roommates and record a video or an audio.
