Formula E trip!

Cheickna and Domiciano went on an IBCP to Monaco to watch the Formula E, here what Cheickna had to say:

Friday:
We went on a plane, and the flight took about 40 minutes. After landing, we took a train and then walked to the hotel. Once we arrived, we split into two groups: one group visited a museum, while the other participated in “Girls on Track.”

The museum had a classic theme, with cars displayed on the walls and on the ground. Their history was shown on electronic tablets. Afterwards, we went to a restaurant that used electronic tablets instead of traditional menus. Later in the evening, we visited the beach.

Saturday:
We went to watch the Grand Prix. Later, we dined at the Café de Paris in the city of Gaya.

A Spring Weekend on Campus

This spring weekend on campus was full of energy and good vibes, with tons of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. The tennis and badminton courts were packed with students playing casual matches, while others gathered around the football pitch to cheer on their friends in some exciting games. Karate sessions added a bit of action and flair, and for those wanting to make a difference, groups of students went around campus picking up rubbish to help keep the place clean. There was even some climbing for the thrill-seekers looking for a bit of adventure. All in all, it was a lively weekend that brought people together and made the most of the sunny weather.

24 HOUR Running Challenge!

From the weekend of 17th to 18th May, our boarding staff and students will undertake a significant challenge. Over the course of 24 hours, they will run continuously, day and night, to raise awareness and funds in support of the fight against cancer.

International Dinner: Russia!

Tonight’s international dinner was a true celebration of Russian cuisine! We indulged in a flavorful spread that included hearty Beef Stroganoff, delicate salmon puff pastry, a classic Russian salad, some good soup, and the show-stopping Napoleon layered cake. Every dish was a delightful journey through rich tradition and comforting flavors. It was a memorable evening filled with warmth, culture, and truly delicious food!

Boarders vs Day Students Basketball Game

In a thrilling and hard-fought basketball game between our Boarders and Day students, the spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition that defines our CDL community was on full display.

Though the Boarders gave it their all, it was the Day students who clinched victory with a nail-biting 26–22 win at the final buzzer!

A huge thank you to Ms Perrine and Coach T for organising such an exciting and energetic event, it was a joy to watch and a fantastic celebration of school spirit!

Boarding Climbing Cup

This climbing tournament was completely different from the previous one. We were given 2 hours to climb as many boulders as we could and mark them on paper. On the other hand, in the last tournament, we had to climb the boulders assigned to us in order. This tournament made me realize that strategy is also an important part of climbing competitions. I loved the energy and seeing new faces in our climbing community. I hope the next climbing tournament will be as competitive and energetic as this one. I also give my compliments to Mr. Rodrigo, Mr. Zach, and Mr. Xavi.

Boarding Adventure: Fun in Every Corner!

Despite the cold, grey skies and the biting chill in the air, the Léman Boys refused to let the dreary weather dampen their spirits. They embraced the opportunity to dive into a wide variety of thrilling and energetic activities offered by our fantastic clubs. Whether scaling towering walls in the Climbing Club, smashing shuttlecocks in fast-paced Badminton matches, or perfecting their serves and volleys on the tennis courts, there was no shortage of excitement. The Running Club energised the crowd with exhilarating races and challenging routes, while Karate, led by the inspiring Mr. Riccardo, saw students channelling their focus and discipline in dynamic martial arts training. For those who loved a bit of everything, the Multi-sport Club offered an exciting mix of games and athletic challenges, allowing students to try their hand at a variety of sports in one action-packed session. And that’s just the beginning! With a whole range of exhilarating activities lined up, the students proved that no matter the weather, their passion for fun and fitness never takes a break.

It has been a very successful weekend!

International Dinner Night: Argentina!!

Argentinian food is known for its rich flavors and emphasis on high-quality meats, particularly beef. The country’s iconic asado (barbecue) is a social tradition, where various cuts of meat are cooked over an open flame. Empanadas, savory pastries filled with meat, cheese, or vegetables, are also popular across the country. Additionally, dishes like milanesa (breaded and fried meat cutlets) and choripán (a sausage sandwich) are beloved street foods. Argentine cuisine is complemented by delicious pastries such as dulce de leche treats and the famous Argentine wine, particularly Malbec, which pairs perfectly with the robust flavors of the food.

Rewarding Positivity

We want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate Luca, Oleg and Enrico for outstanding efforts, growth and achievements.

Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have truly set you apart, and we are incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished.

Keep up the great work – you are all truly deserving of this recognition, and we are excited to see where your continued efforts will take you.

Iceland Trip!

Kelly, Luca and Shaokun went to Iceland during the February Break. Here is a message from Shaokun’s experience:

During our school trip to Iceland, we explored some of the country’s most breathtaking natural wonders and historic sites. From towering waterfalls cascading down rugged cliffs to steaming hot springs nestled in volcanic landscapes, every stop felt like stepping into a postcard. We visited iconic churches with unique architecture, hiked near volcanoes, and even had the rare opportunity to witness molten lava up close, a mesmerizing and slightly terrifying sight that made us truly appreciate the raw power of nature.

Despite all these incredible experiences, one thing felt missing: the chance to indulge in Iceland’s local cuisine. I had hoped to try traditional dishes like lamb stew, fermented shark, or freshly caught seafood, but unfortunately, our itinerary didn’t include any stops for authentic Icelandic food. While the trip was undoubtedly memorable, I couldn’t help but feel that tasting the local flavors would have made it even more immersive.

Crans Montana Winter Camp!!

The winter camp in Crans-Montana was a success, providing students with an enriching and adventurous experience in a breathtaking alpine environment. Throughout the camp, participants engaged in a diverse range of winter sports, including skiing, snowboarding, sledging, and ice skating. These activities not only offered excitement and enjoyment but also allowed students to enhance their technical skills, improve their coordination, and gain greater confidence in their abilities on snow.

Between the stunning snow-covered landscapes of Crans-Montana, students had the opportunity to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the winter season. The experience left a lasting impression on all involved, creating cherished memories and valuable lessons that extend beyond the slopes.

Thank you to our amazing Camps team who organised this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in Crans Montana!!

Building Strong Connection

Building strong connections with our students is a fundamental aspect of boarding life. Last week, we had the privilege of participating in our Boarding Football Tournament, an exhilarating event held under the lights, where students faced off against the boarding staff in a highly competitive match. The game was fiercely contested, showcasing both tactical discipline and sportsmanship from both teams. In a thrilling conclusion, the staff emerged victorious with a decisive “golden goal.” It was an honour to compete against a team of such character and determination, reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie that defines our boarding community.

Happy Birthday Masafumi!

Enjoy your day to the fullest—you deserve it! 🎂🎁🎈

Weekends On Campus!

Whilst our Grade 10 students were enjoying their time in the mountains, our Grade 11 and Grade 12 students remained on campus, engaging in a variety of enriching weekend clubs and activities.

The activities available to them offered something for everyone, catering to a wide range of interests and skills. Students had the opportunity to challenge themselves with climbing, glide gracefully (or not!) on the ice skating rink, and get creative in the kitchen with cooking sessions. These activities were just a few examples of the many options designed to foster fun, personal growth, and a sense of community.

The weekend provided an excellent balance of relaxation and engagement, allowing the students to recharge while exploring hobbies and spending quality time with their peers. It was a perfect reminder that meaningful experiences can be had both on campus and beyond.

Mountain Weekend 1 in Crans Montana!

Our incredible Camps team successfully organized the much-anticipated annual Mountain Weekend trip to Crans-Montana.

The boys from Léman had the thrilling opportunity to ski and snowboard in the breathtaking Swiss Alps. For those who preferred other activities, a carefully curated selection of alternatives awaited them. These included bowling, snowshoeing, sledging, and other engaging options, ensuring everyone had something to look forward to.

Throughout the weekend, the students were treated to magnificent weather and excellent snow conditions, enhancing the overall experience. It was a perfect combination of adventure, camaraderie, and the natural beauty of the Alps.

This unforgettable trip created truly remarkable memories that will be cherished for years to come.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS & SEE YOU IN THE NEW YEAR!!

As we close this year, let’s take a moment to celebrate the memories made, the challenges overcome, and the accomplishments achieved.

Wishing you and your loved ones peace, joy, and warmth this holiday season. May the New Year bring fresh opportunities, new beginnings, and continued success.

Cheers to a bright 2025!

Day 16 of Advent

Here’s a fun winter fact:

Snow isn’t actually white! ❄️
Snow appears white because its tiny ice crystals reflect all the colours of sunlight equally, but in reality, snow is translucent. This scattering of light gives it its bright, white appearance.
