Happy holidays!!

As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to wish all our wonderful Villa du Lac girls a joyful and restful holiday season. It was a fantastic year filled with laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories. We are so grateful to have been a part of your journey.

While it’s always a little sad to say goodbye, we’re comforted by the memories we’ve made together, and we know it’s not really goodbye, just “see you soon.” We’ll keep in touch and cheer you on, wherever your path leads.

Thank you for making this year so special. We wish you a lovely summer filled with sunshine, adventure, and relaxation.

Villa du Lac will reopen on the 19th at 9:00 AM  for the new students and on the 23rd for the returning students. Until then, take care and enjoy every moment! Warmest wishes,
The Villa du Lac Team

Awards day at CDL

A huge congratulations to Masha and Rafaela for getting presented with awards at yesterdays ceremony

Masha was awarded for all her hard work in the school community and her involvement throughout the year in various charity events. Well done masha.

A massive well done also to Rafaela for getting an award for highest academic achievement. All her hard work and hours at the books paid off and were duly noticed in school. Well done Rafa!!

A sunny weekend at VDL

What a way to wrap up the semester! The girls enjoyed their final weekend in VDL before heading home for the summer, and the weather certainly showed up for the occasion. With the sun blazing, many spent time at the lake paddle boarding and relaxing in the warmth. Others ventured into Geneva to catch up with friends and soak in the city vibes. On Sunday, the end-of-year party in Concha brought everyone together for games, laughter, and memories. A brilliant weekend full of sunshine, smiles, and the perfect end to an unforgettable term!

Weekend Activities Round-Up at VDL☀️

This past weekend brought high temperatures and plenty of sunshine, and our girls took part in a full programme of activities designed to keep everyone active, engaged and balanced.

Some enjoyed wakeboarding down at the lake, making the most of the warm weather, some adventure and the beautiful setting. On campus, others joined in for tennis, body shaping, Pilates, and stretching and relaxation sessions – a great mix of movement and calm.

Some also took part in community service, showing real care and commitment to those around them.

One particularly thoughtful moment came from a group of girls who organised a farewell get-together for their Grade 12 boarding friends. It was a lovely gesture, full of care and appreciation, and a fitting way to mark the end of their time together at CDL.

Thank you girls, you helped make the weekend such a positive and memorable one.

Farewell to Our Grade 12 Girls – Boarding Leavers’ Assembly 2025 🎓

We were proud to see our Grade 12 boarders take part in this year’s Leavers’ Assembly – a special moment dedicated to celebrating their time at school and all they’ve achieved!

As part of the tradition, each of our graduating boarders was featured in a personalised presentation slide, highlighting:

  • Their nationalities
  • Their hopes for university
  • The course they wish to study
  • Three words that best describe them

It was a touching tribute to the unique individuals they’ve become and the diverse spirit they’ve brought to our boarding house.

To our leavers: thank you for everything you’ve brought to our community. We’ll miss you dearly, and we’re cheering you on as you take your next steps. You’ll always have a place in our hearts!

With heartfelt congratulations,

The VDL Team

Boarder of the Week & Farewell to Yeva 💫

This week, we’re celebrating Yeva as our Boarder of the Week – and also sadly saying goodbye as she prepares to leave CDL.

As one of our incredible House Captains, Yeva has been a calm, steady leader over the past two years, always leading by example and bringing genuine care and warmth to our boarding community.

This year, she introduced a lovely tradition that will continue long after she leaves – designing and organising birthday cards for every girl in the house, making sure each one felt seen and celebrated. It was a thoughtful and creative initiative that reflected exactly who Yeva is: caring, committed and full of heart.

Yeva, we’re going to miss you more than words can say. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to Villa du Lac – your kindness, your humour, and the way you looked after everyone so naturally.

Wishing you all the very best on your next adventure – you’ll always have a place in our hearts.

Dinner at VDL

This evening we had dinner at home in Villa du Lac. The theme for this evenings meal was American night. We ate delicious burgers and enjoyed the chats and company of our fellow housemates. It was a tasty opportunity to catch up and unwind during exam week.

All the best,

Quiet weekend in Villa du Lac

The long weekend has come to an end and the girls are ready to take on the new week – for many, it marks the first week of exams! Much revision has been done, yet we know that more does not necessarily equal better, so the goal this weekend has certainly been to look after wellbeing as a number one priority.

It has been great to see the girls taking care of themselves as well as one another, be it by quizzing each other, making healthy snacks to share, playing a spot of tennis or basketball, or just heading out for a short walk together to take a breather: they have certainly prepared well and have done it with a great sense of camaraderie. Hats off to Sophia for managing to revise on the train to and from Ticino where she was exploring the Italian side of Switzerland on the last trip of the school year!

Now it is time to see their hard work come to fruition as they put pen to paper and we have no doubt that they can all achieve their goals. Good luck girls!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead
