Fun in the Tree Tops!

We had a massive amount of fun climbing and zipping from tree to tree this Sunday! Well done to everyone, it took some real physical effort on some of the obstacles and also was pretty high up off the ground!

Matvei’s magical weekend in Disneyland Paris

Friday evening after a long school week full of learning and knowledge, Matvei, joined by a few boarders, escaped for a magic weekend in a place full of fairy tails, dreams and imagination: Disneyland Paris.

During those two days he visited all the magical universe of classic Disney cartoons, the sophisticated and technological Walt Disney Studio and took time to buy some souvenirs to keep a nice and warm memory from this adventure.

P.S: During this weekend all our boarders and staff members respected carefully the Covid safety rules, the masks were removed only for the photo shoot.

Preparing Borscht

Matvei wanted to share with us his national & traditional dish: Borscht, a meat soup with beef,  potatoes and onions.
Following the receipt, you have to prepare it the day before, let it settle the whole night and enjoy it the next day.
We were lucky to eat this delicious soup all together at dinner.

Kitchen’s Team Work

Today we had our first boarding competition: Bake a cake.
Thanks to Miss Margot’s experience and our boys motivation we managed to bake an amazing, delicious and beautiful cake.
We will keep you updated about the result 😉

Cycling club

Today our boys went to a nice bike ride around Versoix. Even if there were older students, Zhiyu, Nicholas and Matvei were the one always at the front leading the group even with their tiny little yellow bikes.
After the end of the water activities, you might see our littlre rider more often on the roads.

Start the weekend on the Lake

This morning Matvei, Zhihu and Nicholas went to Padle and Kayak on the Léman Lake. They enjoyed a lot to discover this new activity and most of all had fun in the warm water. There are only few days left for them to experience some water activity before we swap for some winter games and sports.

National day of China

Tonight we celebrate the National day of China. Zhiyu’s mum came by the house to cook some delicious dumplings for us. The boys ate plate after plate and enjoyed a nice dinner at the house. Special thanks to Zhiyu’s mum for preparing 200 dumplings for us!

Wellbeing pillar 1

Yesterday we had another house meeting in which we discussed we rounded off the first wellbeing pillar. During the housemeeting we learned about stress. Through a video we learned what stress is. After the video we discussed things that can cause stress, such as not understanding, schoolwork and pressure. After discovering what gave us stress the children listed things that can help then manage stress: reading, doing exercise, watching TV, drawing… That last one we put into practice when doing a drawing meditation. We listened as someone guided us through connecting pen with paper and our bodies with our minds. The perfect end to our evening.

Watch a short video here!

Furthermore we selected our first primary House Captain. Matvei has been chosen as our House Captain due to his good behaviour, kindness, homework ethic and being responsible and joyful.

Skateboard Workshop

Here’s how the progress is going. This is a little project that Liam has been putting together, he was recently gifted an old skateboard and has had the lovely idea to upcycle it and try to sell it to raise money for charity. On our way through this journey Concha Blanca Boarding House was kind enough to gift us 2 more old battered skateboards. We got straight to work at sanding them down to strip all of the old paint off and we spent this afternoon getting very artsy! The children all came up with their own designs and the did a great job!

Here are the steps we took…
