Concha Represents in CDL Climbing Cup

Incredible participation from our Concha Team to represent our house in the Climbing Cup.

This is the first Climbing Cup where the children have had a chance to earn points for the House Competition. We had a total of 16 students taking part from 11 Boarding Houses. For the Concha athletes from Grade 8 we had Firdavs and Martin, from Grade 9 we had Joāo and Fanyang.

The Team were giving it their all and climbed hard for 2 hours. After a long climbing sesion like that it was nice to sit down together and have a few snacks together while talking about different climbs and which muscles hurt!

Hello Mister!

Trying hard!

Amazing strength!

Don’t look down!

Martial Arts – Art of Cooking

A new weekend club is now available in CDL, Karate Club! Zhengtai was keen to be one of the first to sign up and practice this from of martial arts.

On the other hand a more delicate art, cooking, with Daniel and Juze. Together they made a delicious meal that the scoffed down as soon as it was ready!

Ready your guard!

Daniel’s looking hungry.

Swiss Snowfall

Recalling back to a blog post we made earlier this week where we mentioned the weather was clearing up and we are on our way to welcome Spring, it seems like the Swiss meteo wants to throw a spanner in the works – it’s snowing!

Overnight we had a small snowfall here in Collège du Léman, just enough to cover some of the bushes and field. We’ll make sure to wrap up warm and enjoy this little frosty treat.

Concha Boys – Saturday Climbing Club

Climbing Club is always a great choice and a popular one with the boys here in Concha.

Today João showed great determination and never gave up. Eduardo focused on muscle training, triceps and shoulders. Henrique was brave and eager to improve. Firdavs’ climbing level has moved to the next level. Manuel Enrique has a natural talent for this sport, with a little more focus on technique and power, we’re sure he’ll dominate the climbing gym.

Concha’s Personal Sushi Chef

Fanyang’s newest cooking endeavour has been making his own sushi. He had help from his Sous Chef, Juze, who cooked the rice to perfection. Fanyang mastered quickly the art of rolling up each sushi roll and carving them with precision.

Look at the pride in that smile!

Peaceful Evenings

Reading Club, it’s become synonymous with calm Thursday evenings in Concha Boarding House.

Quiet, focused and deeply immersed in our books, we dive into new worlds, meet new characters and explore these new surroundings that the authours describe so well. They have us hanging on every word with thick plots and unexpected twists.

The Reading Club’s relaxed mood is contagious and the whole house feeds off this serene atmosphere, getting everyone ready for bed in a smooth, calm way.

Another great read.

Out In The Garden

Concha Blanca garden is one of the most magical places on campus. We need to make the most of this amazing green-space. Now that the weather has been clearing up, we have set up the practice net and got out some of the golf clubs.

With a garden this big it’s okay if some shots stray off from the target…

Nice shot!

NAE Football and Basketball Tournament – Budapest

Nord Anglia Education’s Football and Basketball Tournament for Girls and Boys is being hosted in Budapest this year. A team of star talents were selected and flew to Budapest at beginning of the week to represent the Collège du Léman Panthers.

Our Sam, Grade 8, is the Panther’s goal-keeper and has been trying his best to to keep the ball out of the net. He is enjoying this tournament and making the most of an amazing experience.

Not lacking in confidence…

Green Fields and Blue Skies

Nice to see the sun was shining toda, we definitely made the right call to get the boys out of the house. We headed over to the football field and played a quick match of football, then we mixed it up with some keepy-ups and 3 vs 1.

It was nice to have some of the Olympus boys join us as well.

Nice pass Fanyang!

Control it Javi!

Call for it boys!
