Concha’s Climbing Crew

Another success for our boys at the Climbing Club this time uniting themselves as a team and helping eachother. The boys encouraged one another to push themselves to new limits making sure to listen to the instructors guidance.

Today we worked on body position, straight arms and using leg muscles more than pulling with their upper-body. The boys noticed how quickly they were getting “pumped” forearms (muscle fatigue and cramps). This correction will help them use bigger, more powerful leg muscles, preserving their arms to ultimately be able to climb for longer sessions.

Great job Fede, Artem, Kenneth & Petr!

All the crew on the wall, minus Petr..he was doing his own thing when we took this pic.

Boarding Football Tournament

Concha v Champs des Bois & Terray 27

A great match between the juniour houses, Concha taking the victory over a brave team of youngsters. Great to see boys like Ethan, Kenneth and Wenchang taking part in this event because they didn’t feel confident about joining the team before the match. They all came back with big smiles on their faces, well done lads!

Reading Club In Concha

Our Activity Leader, Eleador, led the Reading Club tonight. Our Grade 8 boys again picked up their books and fully immersed themselves into these stories. Eleador followed up with the boys recapping what they read and checked their reading diaries. Good job boys!

CDL Boarding House Climbing Competition

Strategy, strength, flexibility, endurance, mindset, balance, problem-solving and perseverance. All this and more are the qualities that our climbers proved to us on Saturday morning.

Our 2nd Annual CDL Boarding House Climbing Competition took place this weekend. An event hosted by the Climbing Club that brings students from all across Boarding to represent their house and win valuable points for the House Competition. Our athletes, Artem and Petr, climbed really well, showing effort and enthusiasm to this tactital event. The climbers have 1 and a half hours to complete as many boulder problems as possible, earning more or less points depending on the difficulty. We are proud to say Artem and Petr gave it their all and together mangaged to help Concha place 4th in the overall results!

Well done climbing crew for bringing back the points to our House and bring on the next challenge!

Facing the crowd!

Lovely footwork, tip-toeing for that last move!

Barcelona Bound!

From November 7–9, Dario, Fede and Javi swapped Collège du Léman for Gaudí, guitar, and good vibes in beautiful Barcelona!

After a smooth flight and check-in, they dove right into the city’s magic — exploring La Pedrera, the inspiring Sagrada Familia, and soaking up the energy of a Spanish Guitar and Flamenco show by the beach.

Sunday brought football fever at Camp Nou, where the students got a behind-the-scenes look at Barcelona’s legendary stadium, Camp Nou, before heading home — tired, happy, and full of stories.

It was a weekend bursting with culture, laughter, and memories they’ll never forget.

¡Que vagi bé i ja ens veurem, Barcelona!

What a team!

Saturday Fun In & Around Concha

The boys have been very active again this weekend. Some of the choices today: Cooking, Badminton, Climbing, Art Club and Lake Clean-up. The boys are very happy to take part in their weekend activities and put in the effort to improve in their skills. Efe is making sure to log his REACH hours by helping the community in joining the team of Lake Cleaners. He manage to pick up lots of rubbish and threw it away in the appropriate recyling bin. Thanks Efe!

Football For A Good Cause

Sorel, Dario, Kenneth, Fede and Javi all took part in a 3v3 football tournament organised by the staff and students going to the upcoming Tanzania School Trip. The tournament was a charity event to raise money for children in need in Tanzania. It was a great turn out, lots of students made teams and gave donations, making sure to have a great competion at the same time.

Well done and thank you boys!

Climbing Higher With Friends

So happy to see lots of the Concha Climbing Crew join the club this Saturday! Artem, Ege, Fede and Kenneth really challenged themselves today, showing grit and perseverance on the wall. Fede showed off some great techniques using his body positioning to help him reach higher. We also spoke about the importance of ”reading the route”. Before you climb you should always try to visualise the hand movements and footwork that you will need to get to the top, this will help your flow when you climb instead of having to stop, think and look for the next hand holds.

They all did great – Well done boys!

Concha Reading Club

Reading Club is feeling like it’s beginning to grow on the boys. They pick up the book of their choice and settle down on the sofa to immerse themselves in the worlds the authors made for them.

Lots of well written summaries and nicely explained stories in the boys reading diaries.
