Lacing Up Their New Boots

Another succesful shopping trip, Kenneth and Alex bought some new football boots. The big question is who’s are cooler. So of course they came to their trusted House Parents to solve this dispute.

They’re tied with one vote each at the moment – Which boots do you like best?

What do you think? Who’s are cooler?

Evening Comfort Food

Grilled cheese has to be the number one choice when it come to a quick comfort food snack. These delicious treats were made with flare by our own Chef Alex. A bit of a mediterranean twist with these chorizo, jamon serrano and menchego cheese toasties.

Understandably, he didn’t save us a bite.

Yum!

Boarding Orientation Weekend in Leysin

On Friday afternoon, the boys packed their bags and headed to Leysin for Boarding Orientation Weekend. Everyone made it onto the bus—though a few moved at their own pace!

The weekend was filled with adventure. Some trekked down from the summit of Mt. Berneuse after a cable car ride, enjoying breathtaking views. Others learned survival skills, from building shelters to starting fires. Our Orienteering group mastered map and compass work, while the Rock Climbers showed courage scaling new heights. The Mountain Biking team pushed through steep climbs and sped down thrilling descents.

It was a weekend of challenge, discovery, and teamwork—an inspiring start to the year.

Reading Club Is Back!

We missed the reading club over the summer, I’m sure some of us managed to get our heads down and read some chapters over the break but it’s not the same as reading collectively and sharing our thoughts, opinions and new vocabulary. It’s great to hear the pages turn and see the children’s brains at work – deep in their own imaginations. We will be running the reading club every Monday and Thursday as always here, on the Concha House sofas!

Happy to be back in a book!

Going Up A Grade!

A new beginning of another school year. For many of our new boarders it’s the very first day in their Collège du Léman adventure. We captured this moment with our Grade 8s and 9s before entering their lessons this morning.

Fun and Friends in Concha Garden

As an ice-breaker for new students to get to know one another, we organised a fun afternoon here in our garden. We had lots of games set up for team building and making sure the children work as a team together. Tug-o-war, problem sovling games, footbal matches, volleyball, swimming and also we had groups sent to the lake for banana boat session.

Attending Grade 12 Graduation

Some of our boys wanted to show support and celebrate their friends’ final step in their Collège du Léman journey by cheering for them at our Grade 12 Graduation Ceremony in Geneva.

It’s hard to say the weather is too hot when you look this cool!

Who Is The Quiz Whiz?

We had 4 strong members form a team of super brains for the Internation Quiz, earning points for us in the House Competition! The Concha Lads competed against the other Boarding Houses in quizes about international knowledge, geography and flags.

Our boys competed very well and took home with them many points to help us move up on the overall scoreboard.

Well done Concha Lads!
