Franconis Weekend of Games, Goals & Good Times 🎉

After a busy week filled with Discovery Days, the boys were more than ready to welcome the weekend and they made the most of it!

There was a perfect balance of rest and fun: some headed out for lunch in Geneva with friends, while others enjoyed time with friends and chilled in the evening back at the house with PlayStation battles and movie nights.

On Sunday, we had our very first House competition of the year in Concha. The boys showed great spirit in all the fun games and were delighted to secure an impressive 2nd place overall! Before winding down for bed, we laced up our running shoes for a 2.5km evening run, kicking off our training for the legendary Escalade Run in Geneva later this year. Every boy in the house has committed to taking part, and it’s a challenge we’re already excited about. 🏃‍♂️

Now that both Discovery Days and the Mountain Weekend are behind us, it feels like routines are settling in, and Franconis is truly back in full swing. Here’s to another great week ahead!

Kicking Off with Kebabs! 🌯✨

Although we’ve already been back at school for three weeks, this week marked something special — our very first monthly House Dinner of the year in Franconis!

Once a month, we gather together as a house to share a meal, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. For our first dinner at home, the boys tucked into a delicious feast of kebabs, and the atmosphere didn’t disappoint — laughter, chatter, and plenty of empty plates by the end!

These dinners are a great tradition, giving us the chance to slow down, connect, and celebrate life in Franconis. If this first one is anything to go by, we’re in for a year of fantastic evenings and great memories ahead. 🎉

A Wonderful Weekend in Verbier

This past weekend, our boarding community enjoyed an amazing trip to Verbier. With perfect weather and breathtaking mountain views, students took part in a variety of activities—from hiking and biking to climbing and team games.

Beyond the activities, the weekend was also about connection: spending time with old friends, making new ones, and sharing lots of laughter along the way. Moments like these help us grow closer together and build an even stronger boarding community. We also had a special reason to celebrate—Jeronimo’s birthday on Friday. It was wonderful to see his friends and housemates share in the celebration and make the day memorable for him.

What a great start to the school year—adventures, friendships, and memories to last!

First Weekend Back in Franconis 🎉

What a fantastic start to the year here in Franconis! After a great first week back at school, the boys enjoyed their first weekend together in the boarding house, and it was full of energy, laughter, and plenty of activities.

From lively games of Uno and Jenga to cooking and baking sessions with friends, there was something for everyone. Some headed out to the basketball court and gym, while others joined a boat trip across the lake to the beautiful town of Yvoire. It was the perfect mix of fun, activity, and exploration.

It’s been great to see the boys settling back into the routine so quickly, reconnecting with old friends and welcoming new ones into the house. With the first weekend behind us, all eyes are now on our mountain weekend in Verbier next week, and the excitement is already building! 🏔️

Welcome Back to Franconis! 🎉

Franconis is officially back open! After a well-deserved summer break, we’re excited to welcome our students as they begin arriving from today.

We hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and are ready for another fantastic year ahead. The house is prepped, the team is ready, and we can’t wait to see Franconis filled with energy, laughter, and new memories once again.

Here’s to a great year together — let the adventure begin! 🚀

A Weekend of Celebration, Sunshine, and Support

While the graduation ceremony was the highlight of the weekend for many, there were also other meaningful moments taking place—filled with family, good weather, and a spirit of support.

Friday included a special name day celebration shared across generations, bringing together close family members for a warm and joyful gathering. On Saturday, the beautiful weather made Geneva the perfect setting to enjoy some relaxed time outdoors and create lasting memories with loved ones.

To end the weekend on a thoughtful note, Sunday evening saw students coming together to help younger peers with their homework and exam preparation. Among them was Antonio, who offered his time and support to those who needed an extra boost before the final stretch of the term.

A wonderful reminder that even during busy times, there’s always room for connection, kindness, and community.

A Proud Day: Graduation Ceremony Highlights

The graduation ceremony on Saturday was a joyful and memorable occasion. The atmosphere was filled with pride, celebration, and a strong sense of accomplishment.

As the graduates took to the stage, each name called was met with warm applause and cheering from the crowd. The ceremony moved smoothly, with heartfelt speeches and moments of reflection that highlighted the dedication and growth shown over the past years.

Laughter, smiles, and even a few emotional moments were shared throughout the event. The energy in the room was uplifting, and the celebration felt well-deserved.

It was a day that brought people together to recognize hard work and success. Every graduate should feel incredibly proud—this milestone marks not just an ending, but the beginning of exciting new paths ahead.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

Weekend Recap: Jerónimo Takes on the Biker vs. Runner Challenge!

This past weekend was full of sunshine, good energy, and a bit of friendly competition here at CDL!

One of the highlights was the annual Bikers vs. Runners Challenge, where cyclists race around Lake Léman while runners take on a 60km relay. We’re proud to share that Jerónimo joined the runners’ team and completed a strong 6km leg of the race!

It was great to see him put in such dedication, and even better to see him enjoy the moment. His commitment to his fitness routine really showed, and his cheerful spirit brought a lot to the team.

While the cyclists were a bit faster this time around, Jerónimo’s effort and attitude were a big win in themselves. Well done, Jerónimo!

🌤️ A Calm and Enjoyable Weekend in Franconis 🌿

It’s been a quiet and refreshing weekend here in Franconis, with a few fun activities sprinkled in as the boys found a good balance between rest, social time, and preparation for the final stretch of the term.

Antonio proudly represented Italy during our International Day, offering a delicious homemade cake at the Italian stand. He also managed to squeeze in a run between study sessions as he gears up for his upcoming exams.

Jeronimo and Diego joined the rest of the Houses for a lively Quiz Night on Thursday, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the competition and taking 1st place. Jeronimo also had a chance to try something new this weekend—wakeboarding—which he took on with courage and a big smile!

Today, Jeronimo and Diego made the most of the beautiful weather by taking the boat from Nyon to Yvoire, enjoying a peaceful day exploring the charming French village.

Meanwhile, Kaishu enjoyed a more relaxed pace, spending quality time with friends and eating out, soaking up the last few weekends before summer.

All in all, it was a lovely mix of calm, connection, and new experiences.

🛠️ Wellbeing Pillar 5 – Week 3: Respect & Conflict Resolution 🤝

This week marked the final session of Pillar 5: Making Safe and Responsible Choices, with a focus on the second key takeaway: Respect as a tool for resolving conflict.

During our House Meeting, the Advocates Team led the way with a thoughtful video that explored how conflict is a natural part of life, especially in a shared living environment like ours. The message was clear—disagreements will happen, but how we handle them makes all the difference.

The video highlighted how respect forms the foundation for healthy, effective conflict resolution. Whether it’s listening to another point of view, staying calm during tense moments, or finding common ground, respect allows us to move through challenges and strengthen our relationships.

A great way to close out this wellbeing pillar, filled with meaningful conversations.
