Jeronimo on the Decks! ๐ŸŽง๐ŸŽถ

Each week, Jeronimo takes part in his DJ Mix activity, and itโ€™s fantastic to see how much he enjoys it. What began as something new when he joined CDL has grown into a real passion, and his confidence behind the decks continues to shine.

Itโ€™s always a pleasure to stop by and listen, as his focus, creativity, and enjoyment really shine through. Itโ€™s wonderful to see him doing something he truly loves!

Weekend Highlights in Franconis

It’s been a great weekend in Franconis with the boys enjoying a nice mix of activities.

On Saturday morning, You-How and Edison went banana boating, which they really enjoyed. In the afternoon, some of the boys headed to Geneva, while others stayed back to revise for their exams. Later, Antonio went out for a run while Jeronimo and Emilano enjoyed pizza and a movie night.

Sunday was just as full. Jeronimo walked Mr Usher’s dog, Dixie, before joining the Lego Club. Loris had a basketball game where his team won comfortably. Antonio hit the gym, while Zitian, You-How and Edison went for a walk before winding down for a quiet evening.

A fun and balanced weekend.

Respect Week in Franconis โœ‹๐ŸŽ‚

This week at CDL, we are celebrating Respect Week as part of our RISE values. In Franconis, we took some time during our House Meeting to reflect on what respect really means to each of us.

Together, we created our own โ€œHands of Respectโ€ poster, with every student adding a personal reflection โ€” from treating people with kindness to being responsible for our words and actions. It was a great chance to share ideas, listen to one another, and see how respect shows up in our daily lives.

We then ended the evening on a sweet note by celebrating Zitianโ€™s birthday together. A meaningful and joyful night in Franconis! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚

A Weekend Full of Fun, Food, and Fitness ๐ŸŽข๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ’ช

This past weekend was packed with highlights for our students!

A group of students enjoyed an unforgettable experience at Europa-Park โ€” from thrilling rollercoasters to magical themed areas, the park was buzzing with energy and excitement. Everyone came back with big smiles and plenty of stories to share.

Meanwhile the atmosphere in the boarding house turned cozy as some students prepared a Japanese hotpot dinner together. It was the perfect way to wind down after a day of adventures โ€” sharing food, laughter, and time with friends around the table.

On Sunday, many of our students kept the momentum going with some time in the gym. Balancing relaxation with a bit of fitness was a great way to round off the weekend and get ready for the new week ahead.

A wonderful mix of adventure, culture, and wellness โ€” just the way we like weekends here in the boarding house!

Respect, Beats & Belgian Treats ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿƒ

Yesterday, we gathered for our Monthly Assembly, focusing on the theme of Respect and Kindness,ย two values at the core of life in our community. It was a great reminder of how small actions can make a big difference in the way we live and learn together.

Today, I stopped by to see Jeronimo at his DJ Mix activity after school. Music has always been a passion for him, but it was only when he arrived at CDL last year that he first tried DJโ€™ing and itโ€™s clear heโ€™s found something he truly loves. ๐ŸŽง

In the evening, the whole boarding community enjoyed an International Dinner, with Belgium taking the spotlight. From Moules and Frites to sweet Belgian waffles with whipped cream and berry compote, it was a feast to remember!

After social hour, the boys pulled on their trainers for our first Wednesday night run, a new Franconis tradition on the road to one of our big House goals: running the Geneva Escalade together this December. ๐Ÿ’ช

A mix of respect, discovery, culture, and challenge.

Franconis Weekend of Games, Goals & Good Times ๐ŸŽ‰

After a busy week filled with Discovery Days, the boys were more than ready to welcome the weekend and they made the most of it!

There was a perfect balance of rest and fun: some headed out for lunch in Geneva with friends, while others enjoyed time with friends and chilled in the evening back at the house with PlayStation battles and movie nights.

On Sunday, we had our very first House competition of the year in Concha. The boys showed great spirit in all the fun games and were delighted to secure an impressive 2nd place overall! Before winding down for bed, we laced up our running shoes for a 2.5km evening run, kicking off our training for the legendary Escalade Run in Geneva later this year. Every boy in the house has committed to taking part, and it’s a challenge weโ€™re already excited about. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Now that both Discovery Days and the Mountain Weekend are behind us, it feels like routines are settling in, and Franconis is truly back in full swing. Hereโ€™s to another great week ahead!

Kicking Off with Kebabs! ๐ŸŒฏโœจ

Although weโ€™ve already been back at school for three weeks, this week marked something special โ€” our very first monthly House Dinner of the year in Franconis!

Once a month, we gather together as a house to share a meal, relax, and enjoy each otherโ€™s company. For our first dinner at home, the boys tucked into a delicious feast of kebabs, and the atmosphere didnโ€™t disappoint โ€” laughter, chatter, and plenty of empty plates by the end!

These dinners are a great tradition, giving us the chance to slow down, connect, and celebrate life in Franconis. If this first one is anything to go by, weโ€™re in for a year of fantastic evenings and great memories ahead. ๐ŸŽ‰

A Wonderful Weekend in Verbier

This past weekend, our boarding community enjoyed an amazing trip to Verbier. With perfect weather and breathtaking mountain views, students took part in a variety of activitiesโ€”from hiking and biking to climbing and team games.

Beyond the activities, the weekend was also about connection: spending time with old friends, making new ones, and sharing lots of laughter along the way. Moments like these help us grow closer together and build an even stronger boarding community. We also had a special reason to celebrateโ€”Jeronimoโ€™s birthday on Friday. It was wonderful to see his friends and housemates share in the celebration and make the day memorable for him.

What a great start to the school yearโ€”adventures, friendships, and memories to last!

First Weekend Back in Franconis ๐ŸŽ‰

What a fantastic start to the year here in Franconis! After a great first week back at school, the boys enjoyed their first weekend together in the boarding house, and it was full of energy, laughter, and plenty of activities.

From lively games of Uno and Jengaย to cooking and baking sessions with friends, there was something for everyone. Some headed out to the basketball court and gym, while others joined a boat trip across the lake to the beautiful town of Yvoire. It was the perfect mix of fun, activity, and exploration.

Itโ€™s been great to see the boys settling back into the routine so quickly, reconnecting with old friends and welcoming new ones into the house. With the first weekend behind us, all eyes are now on our mountain weekend in Verbier next week, and the excitement is already building! ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

Welcome Back to Franconis! ๐ŸŽ‰

Franconis is officially back open! After a well-deserved summer break, weโ€™re excited to welcome our students as they begin arriving from today.

We hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and are ready for another fantastic year ahead. The house is prepped, the team is ready, and we canโ€™t wait to see Franconis filled with energy, laughter, and new memories once again.

Hereโ€™s to a great year together โ€” let the adventure begin! ๐Ÿš€
