This weekend, the boys built a gingerbread house. The idea was to make a replica of our house, Leman. Judge for yourselves, but it looks great and has the bearing of many of the boys. Let’s hope we win! Let’s go Leman!

International Day of Persons with Disability
Today, 3rd of December, is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and advocates have suggested an initiative. The other day students had to send in their suggestions to improve the houses, now they have to post the suggestions they gave around the house. This way they are all aware of the barriers that people with disabilities can encounter in their daily routine.
First weekend of December!
In this cold weekend that we have had in CDL there have been activities where the boys of Leman have participated. As always we have some of them who have continued to improve their tennis or climbing or horse riding or woodwork skills. They have also continued to participate in the history and chess clubs. As we have entered December and it will soon be Christmas, this weekend it was time to visit the Christmas market in Montreux, one of the most wonderful in Europe.
Let’s talk about people with disability
This week from the advocates of the second pillar came an initiative related to people with disabilities. The boys from Leman had to think how to improve the house for a disabled partner. They have come up with ideas for people with reduced mobility, visual and hearing impairment, etc.
We are still looking for suggestions to make the boarding school more inclusive!
The first wonderful Christmas concert of Boarding
On Wednesday after dinner the first Christmas concert of the boarding school took place. Some of the pupils of the boarding school, although we could call them artists after what they did, played different instruments and sang Christmas songs. There were instrumental moments, sung songs accompanied by the guitar or the piano. We had the wonderful opportunity to see Adi, one of our Leman boys, playing the guitar to the song Snowman by Sia with a student from another house.
Incredible match against Champittet School
An afternoon of Drama!
This afternoon, some of our boys have performed some plays where they conveyed messages related to current issues such as technology or the environment. Apart from making it very entertaining and making us enjoy it. It was wonderful how they performed on stage. It seems that we have some good actors among the Leman students.
Respect Week
Entering the Christmas Season!
This weekend, like every other weekend, we had activities such as tennis, swimming, climbing, horse riding and the running and history clubs. As an excursion, on Sunday they went to the Grand Parc d’Andilly – Christmas Park. Here they were able to stroll around the stalls with Christmas sweets, drinks and Christmas food or activities inspired by Christmas. They had a lot of fun and the decorations for this special time of the year are already visible.
We keep going with the Wellbeing Programme!
Yesterday evening we started with the second Pillar of the Wellbeing Programme: Protecting against Bullying and Respecting Diversity. Adi, our Advocate of Leman, presented the challenge related to Race and Ethnicity. Our boys have to find the similarities they have with their roommates and record a video or an audio.
Back to the weekend activities after the October Break!
Even though it rained, and it was very windy this weekend, this did not stop the boys from getting back to their weekend activities. They have resumed activities such as tennis, cooking, climbing… They have also returned to chess, running and history clubs. This weekend they had handball as a different activity. But they have also had a day trip to the oldest chocolate factory in Switzerland, they have visited Maison Cailler, where they have been able to taste some of their chocolates, even the cocoa beans after having gone through the roasting process.
What a weekend have had our Leman boys. The bad weather does not stop these guys to keep on doing things.

Our boys have the opportunity to meet the mythical characters of their favourite films, ride and have fun on the different attractions and see the incredible parades. They felt like children again in a magical world and lived the Disney experience 100%.

On Saturday and Sunday, they took part in the activities we usually have every weekend such as chess club, climbing, cooking, golf and tennis. This weekend they also went to Walibi amusement park where they had a great time and some of them also participated in the new history club.
