Jeune Genevois means a bank holiday, which equals to “day with no classes”, which equals to day trip to Lausanne since all shops and venues are closed in Geneva.
A big group of boarders took advantage of this to visit the city, enjoy the views, do some shopping and relax in this beautiful city on the north shore of the Lake.
Tomorrow we will be heading to the mountains… more news will follow 🙂
It is that time of year again when we launch the first pillar of our wellbeing programme in the Boarding Houses – ‘Nurturing Healthy Bodies and Minds’.
Throughout this pillar we will be ensuring our students understand the importance of taking care of our bodies and our minds in our day to day lives. Furthermore, we will be highlighting sport participation, sleeping patterns, nutrition and relaxation methods, as sub topics. With the students, we will discuss and discover how all these could play a key role in maintaining a healthy balance.
This week we will be asking the students how different sports or creative activities can help them with both their physical and mental health.
Timur and Antoni will be presenting in our wellbeing session this week to talk about the sports they do, why they participate in sport, how they feel afterwards, and the physical and mental benefits they experience after exercise.
Roi wants to improve his English and he wants to do it quickly. Therefore, in the evening Roi always comes to us, before bed time and together we do some reading. We help Roi understanding what he is reading and he is making quick progress.
This evening, Roi brought a new book… Johnny English, the secret agent that became famous thanks to actor Rowan Atkinson.
If the book is as funny as the movie we are gonna have some good laughs 🙂
We would like to welcome each of you to the great start of the 2022-2023 Academic School Year in College du Leman !!
These last few days have been filled with a lot of joy and excitement from new and returning students. In a blink of an eye all students started to meet and socialize with each other with walks to the lake, visiting the Chocolate Factory Favarger, playing basket and football, exploring campus and within many other activities during the weekend. Have a look at some freshly baked pictures taken during these days:
Yesterday we had the 2022 graduation ceremony in Geneva. Our Grade 12 students have officially graduated from Collège du Léman. We are incredibly proud of all our Léman 1 boys who graduated yesterday. We will miss them dearly and we wish them all the very best for their next adventure…. University!
To round off an amazing year of hard work and incredible activities, we had our annual end of year event in our wonderful Concha garden this afternoon. The sun was shining and all our Boarding students had a lot of fun. A complete afternoon with swimming and ice creams!!
Our Boarding students helped out in Samedi Du Partage Today.
Samedi Du Partage is a great initiative for the less fortunate who cannot get access to basic provisions. Our students explained to local shoppers the goal of this organisation. As you can see below our very own Leman 1 students, holding the iconic pink bag with Titeuf on it and loading all the goods into crates.
We are proud of our boys’ hard work and showing the true colours of our School by helping our community and others.
Ablai once again got himself up this morning, even AFTER doing leg day the previous day, and went for a 4 km run with Mr. Joe and the rest of the Running Club crew.
Running past the Mies roundabout, looping back to CDL
We had quite a large group of boys in cooking today – in fact Leman 1 dominated the second time slot. As a result, the house was chock full of chocolate and lemon/vanilla cupcakes.
Some colorful icing to add an element of surprise when you bite in – will it be chocolate or lemon?
Henry and Zihao mentally preparing for the task ahead.
Amirhossein and Junqi take making cupcakes very seriously.
This evening, CDL students of various ages gathered together to put on a series of musical performances and showcase the skills they have been developing this year – including three of our boys Gabriel, Amirhossein and Ilian.
The Dynamic Duo, Ilian (drums) and Gabriel (bass/vocals)
Amirhossein on drums with the Olympus boys Murat (xylophone) and David (
Today we celebrated our diverse community here at CDL with International Day!
As a result of world events, this is the first time in a few years that we have been able to hold this event, and the return was a resounding success.
By the time I managed to get to the Chinese and Japanese food stalls, organized in part by some of our Leman 1 students, they had been completely sold out!
If only Weihao was as good at League as he was at running the Chinese food stall!
Masanobu, Aoto and Taichi grinding out some shaved ice. Yoku Yatta!
Don’t be fooled, Shintaro is having the time of his life!
This morning, Ablai once again joined Mr. Joe from Olympus for a 5km run. He was fairly tired already and it was a blisteringly hot day, but he pushed on.
We would like to commend him for his perseverance and tenacity!
The latest instalment of our adventurous trip programme saw a group of our Boarding Students travel to German this weekend to visit the incredibly fun Europa Park!! Although all our students are very tired now, they all had a brilliant time!
