😁 Fun Weekend πŸ€

This weekend all our Olympus kids were back to normal with 3 days full of activities, entertainment and, most importantly, lots of fun. We were also very lucky as the weather was perfect, with warm temperatures and sunshine in the sky all weekend long. Here are some photos of our boys:

Monthly House Dinner

We enjoyed another opportunity to eat together in our Olympus Boarding House. It is a great way to bond and create a sense of community. Sharing dishes family-style encourages conversation and fosters a welcoming atmosphere. It’s an opportunity to try new foods and discover different cultural cuisines which this week was Thai. The social aspect of this communal dining makes it a highlight of the month.

International Dinner: Senegal 😍

Senegalese cuisine is diverse and flavorful, with influences from West Africa, France, and the Middle East. Some popular dishes include Thiebou Djeun, a spicy rice dish made with fish and vegetables, and MafΓ©, a stew made with peanuts and vegetables. Eating international cuisine is positive as it allows individuals to explore new tastes, learn about different cultures and broaden their palate. It also promotes diversity and brings people together by sharing meals and experiences. Furthermore, international cuisine helps to promote local businesses and supports local economies, particularly in tourist areas. Overall, eating international cuisine is a fulfilling and enriching experience that enriches personal and community life.

Fun and memorable experience for the students at Olympus! Enjoying a warm meal like pancakes after a weekend of outdoor activities like skiing is a great way to relax and recharge. We hope they all had a great time together and created some lasting memories.

πŸ—» Second ski weekend ❄

As the last weekend was so fun for our students, we have achieved to come again to Fiesch. We were lucky with sunny days.

There, our Olympus students, as well as all the girls and boys from Collège du Leman, were able to enjoy their stay in many different ways.

From skiing in the high-altitude resort of Fiescheralp to visiting the Sports Centre, we are sure that all our students enjoyed the experience immensely.

Here are a few photos from the weekend.

Wellbeing Programme Pillar 3: Building Positive Friendships

Do you embrace the international community, or do you prefer the convenience of building friendships within your own culture and language?

In this weeks assembly we questioned the boys on whether they had friends from different countries. All the boys thankfully stated they had. This is an important part of being in a Boarding Community and making friends internationally.

“It is easy to make friends with people from the same place”

“Making friends with people from other countries has opened my eyes to different cultures”

“I came here to make friends internationally”

“My friends here, have become like my brothers- it doesn’t matter what country they are from”

“Its a waste of an opportunity to only stay with a group from your own country”

“It’s helped me improve my English”
