Last Tuesday, our Akmaral had the opportunity to be invited to Nowruz. 🤩
Nowruz marks the first day of spring and is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, which usually occurs on 21 March. It is celebrated as the beginning of the new year by more than 300 million people all around the world and has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East and other regions.

Our weekend went by fast full of activities and great times! 🤩

On Friday, our girls had an amazing time playing sports.
Badminton is a favorite in the house! 🏸

Saturday, Laura Jane went to Horse Riding and spent some time with the horses. 🐴
Kylie, also went to cooking and did some Cordon Blue! 😋
And Natalia, went to do some woodcraft! 🧤

And our skiers/snowboarders said goodbye to the snow! ❄☃
It was their last day! They really enjoyed it! 👏🏻

And of course, we had the cleaning day! 🧽

Dear All,

The weekend is almost over and our girls had so much fun! Spring is coming here and everyone is happy to enjoy the good weather 🌞

Lots of activities took place during the weekend: some of our girls participated to the Community Service – Lola, Vivien, Sedef and Leyla spent time cleaning the campus. Well done girls!! 👏

Food is always a highlight in our house: Sofiya cooked and enjoyed a delicious Carbonara! During Baking Club Kylie, Sofja, Kate, Sabina and Sangeetha prepared an Asian recipe – Honk Kong bread: super yummy 😋

Addison had an amazing time in La Tzoumaz where she enjoyed fresh snow and sunny weather for the Ski Club ❄☃

This week the girls will be participating in the CDL Talent Show –  pictures will come on Tuesday, so stay tuned!!

During this weekend, our Sarah, took part of the Volleyball Tournament in Lausanne.
The team came in 3rd place and we are very proud of our Sarah! 😊🙌🏆

During this weekend, Sangeetha and Leyla joined the Rome trip and they loved it! 🙌🤩

They had a great time, visiting the la Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo, the Pantheon and the Vatican City! 😎

They also had the opportunity to watch the Six Nations match between Italy and Wales! 🏆

And of course, they were so lucky, that they had the chance to meet the famous actor Luke Evans! 🎞🤩

Last Wednesday, during the House Meeting our Pillar 4 advocates, took the lead and introduced the Pillar 4 on our Wellbeing Programme. 🤗

The main takeaway point was: are we conscious of how much time we spend on our phones – do we spend an equal amount of time living offline?

The girls answer to quiz with the following questions:

• How many hours per day do you spend on your phone?
• Which social media do you have? – select all that apply
• Thinking of your followers – do you know them all?
  
• On a normal day, do you speak more with friends in person, or via your phone?
• Do you use your phone in the last 30 minutes before sleeping?
  
• From what age do you think a young person should be allowed on Instagram / TikTok / Snapchat?
  
• Do you think people only show a ‘good side’ of life on social media?
  
• Have you ever experienced something negative online?
  

It was a great way for the girls to have a discussion between them. They got into a an agreement that next Wednesday, after our house meeting,  all of them will do a phone detox during the evening/night! 😊🙌

Hello everyone,

The weekend is over in Villa du Lac and our girls had so much fun! They enjoyed being able to get out and about in the nice weather 🌞

They took part to lots of activities: some of them baked brownies and a delicious fruit crumble 🍰 Others spent time skiing in La Tzoumaz! Last but not least, Sophie, Sarah and Eugenia participated in the boarding trip to Barcelona 😊

Now all that is left is for the girls to prepare for the week ahead!
