Quiet weekend in Villa du Lac

The long weekend has come to an end and the girls are ready to take on the new week – for many, it marks the first week of exams! Much revision has been done, yet we know that more does not necessarily equal better, so the goal this weekend has certainly been to look after wellbeing as a number one priority.

It has been great to see the girls taking care of themselves as well as one another, be it by quizzing each other, making healthy snacks to share, playing a spot of tennis or basketball, or just heading out for a short walk together to take a breather: they have certainly prepared well and have done it with a great sense of camaraderie. Hats off to Sophia for managing to revise on the train to and from Ticino where she was exploring the Italian side of Switzerland on the last trip of the school year!

Now it is time to see their hard work come to fruition as they put pen to paper and we have no doubt that they can all achieve their goals. Good luck girls!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead

Busy weekend in Villa du Lac!!

The weekend spirit arrived early this week as Friday saw all the students coming together to celebrate International Day!!! Whether they were selling traditional food from their countries or providing international themed face painting, many of our girls got involved and did a fantastic job raising funds for charity. Special shout outs go to Masha, Aurora, Katia, Paria, Sophia, Rafa, Hecto, Vanessa, Polina, and Dasha for their amazing contributions.

The rest of the weekend saw a mixture of regular and new activities taking place. Maybe it was the tennis fever that hit Geneva this week with the ATP tour being hosted in our city, but we certainly had plenty of girls making the most of the courts on both Saturday  and Sunday! It was ace!!

In a departure from the usual activities, a small group of our girls joined the long awaited boat trip to Yvoire on Sunday. They travelled by boat across the lake to France where they ate crêpes, visited the local artisanal stores and visited  the beautiful ‘garden of five senses’ where they could learn about the different types of plants and even taste some of them! The group had a wonderful afternoon and it was great to be able to make the most of the good weather and see one of our local gems.

This week will be a short one with classes finishing after school on Wednesday ready for the long weekend. Suitcases are already being packed by many excited girls in anticipation!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead,

The Villa du Lac Team 🙂

Global Citizenship in VDL

This week we have been celebrating Internationalism at CDL and have spent time considering what it means to us, to be ‘Global Citizens’.

After much debate and discussion that included terms like: open-mindedness; responsibility; unity; collaboration; recycling; water conservation; friendship; collective community; mindfulness; awareness and global impact, the girls have created a short definition of what it means to us:
