Trip to Venice!

Dear all,

Last weekend, the students embarked on a lovely journey to Venice, a city built upon a lagoon, renowned for its captivating palaces and meandering canals. The trip lasted three days, full of nice activities.

On the first day, everyone strolled through the city, culminating in a dinner of authentic Italian pizza. The following day commenced with a visit to the magnificent Doge’s Palace, where the girls had a guided tour delving into its rich history. Energized by lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, they relished free time to explore further. Some students decided to join a quintessential Venetian experience with a gondola ride, while others explored the city, savoring gelato along the way.

On the final day, the students ventured to Murano Island to uncover the artistry of glassmaking. Witnessing the craftsmen at work was truly captivating, and the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They also had the opportunity to procure Murano glass souvenirs during their leisure time on the island. Returning to the main island, everyone visited the renowned Fenice Theater, concluding the day with some shopping before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Overall, it was a truly memorable experience! Please enjoy the delightful pictures from our trip below.

Best wishes,

Villa du Lac Team 😊

Exciting “long weekend” (le pont!)

Dear all,

This long weekend – or “le pont” (πŸŒ‰) as French speakers would say – the girls enjoyed some exciting activities and made the most of the lovely weather. Some of these included chess, volleyball, wakeboarding, a trip to Annecy (known as the “Venice of the Alps”), and a visit to the actual Venice (keep an eye out for an upcoming post about this lovely adventure, a favorite destination for some so far!).

During the weekend, we also took some time to watch the Eurovision contest (with Switzerland as the winner, making the day for our Swiss girls!) and did some stargazing on the terrace Saturday night. Unfortunately, our hopes of seeing the northern lights were not fulfilled, but we enjoyed the time trying to spot them with nice music.

Finally, on Sunday, Miss Alison baked some super tasty and amazing banana bread, brownies, along with watermelon for the health-conscious ones! (Yummmy!)

Keep an eye out for the post on Venice, and we wish you all an amazing week ahead!

Best wishes,

Villa du Lac Team 😊

We are including below the challenge from Tuesday: “How many hand-taps can you and your partner do in 1 minute?” Congratulations to Lola and Laure Jane for winning!

Thank you to Perrine and Iola for this amazing initiative!

Lovely trip to Tanzania!

Dear all,

We’re thrilled to share the incredible adventures of some of our Villa du Lac girls during the Easter holidays as they were lucky enough to travel to Tanzania. Through a Service Expedition blending community engagement and nature exploration, they’ve returned with hearts full of memories and experiences to cherish.

During the first week, our students actively participated in meaningful community service projects and engaged in sustainable learning initiatives, fostering connections and making a positive impact.

In the second week, they ventured to the captivating shores of Zanzibar, indulging in serene beach relaxation and immersing themselves in the culture of the region.

Below, you’ll find some photos of their journey. We hope these images convey a glimpse of the joy and growth they experienced.

Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead! ✨

Last weekend before the holidays!

Dear all,

This weekend, we enjoyed a variety of delightful activities. On Friday, the day was beautiful, with spring bringing blossoms to the trees and flowers blooming around campus. On Saturday, the girls had a fantastic time horse riding, playing games indoors, and baking delicious desserts. Sunday offered a plethora of enjoyable activities as well, including tennis, stretching and relaxation sessions, pilates, chess, the final day in Verbier for the ski group, a day at the spa, an art club session with Miss Madina, and another delightful bake-off skillfully prepared by Miss Alison.

These activities provided an opportunity for all the girls to bond and enjoy each other’s company before departing for the holiday at some point this week.

Thank you for the wonderful weekend! Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead and a splendid holiday!

Kind regards,

Villa du Lac Team 😊
