What an extraordinary weekend it has been! With excitement in the air, four of our lovely girls went on a journey to Paris, where they marveled at the iconic Eiffel Tower and beheld the enigmatic smile of the Mona Lisa. Their adventures and pictures undoubtedly added a touch of magic to our weekend.

Meanwhile, back at Villa du Lac, the spirit of adventure continued with a thrilling Escape Room challenge that had hearts racing and minds buzzing with excitement. They showcased their wit and teamwork, emerging victorious from the labyrinth of puzzles and clues.

In addition to the thrill of the Escape Room, we were treated to a delightful workshop led by our esteemed House Tutor, Madina. Her guidance and expertise created an atmosphere of creativity and learning, enriching our weekend with new skills and perspectives. This time, with a focus on the artist Zao Wou Ki and poetry.

And let us not forget the March on Women’s Day, where we stood united in solidarity, celebrating the achievements and resilience of women everywhere. It was a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within our community. Apart from walking 4K for the march, sports also took center stage, with some hitting the slopes in Verbier for a day of exhilarating skiing, while others enjoyed a friendly game of tennis. Furthermore, we’re ecstatic to announce that our volleyball team emerged triumphant in the weekend tournament against other schools! Their hard work and dedication were truly commendable, and we couldn’t be prouder of their well-deserved victory.

Yesterday, we celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science by shining a spotlight on remarkable individuals like Maria and Inès, who are pursuing careers in the field of science. We all recognise how fortunate we are to live in a time where barriers are beginning to come down and have no doubt that these amazing young women will go on to inspire future generations.

As Nichelle Nichols says: “Science is not a boy’s game, it’s not a girl’s game. It’s everyone’s game. It’s about where we are and where we’re going.”

We can’t quiet believe it but we have just completed our final weekend before the February break! As usual, it was a busy one…

Some of the girls had the pleasure of attending the first session of the Art Club, led by our wonderful House Tutor and talented artist, Miss Madina. The girls thoroughly enjoyed delving into various artistic techniques and insights. It was not only a fun experience but also a productive one, as they worked on developing their portfolios for future university applications, while also fostering their interests and enhancing their knowledge in the field of art 🎨👩‍🎨✨

In addition to the Art Club, there were several other engaging activities organized over the weekend. These included running, horse riding, chess and skiing in Verbier. We want to extend our congratulations to everyone who participated in these activities; your enthusiasm and commitment are truly commendable! 🏃‍♀️🏇⛷️
