Boarding House Awards Night

We are thrilled to share the incredible achievements of our talented students in this year’s Boarding Awards! At Villa du Lac, we couldnโ€™t be prouder to see our girls shine in all three categories: Boarding Life, Activities, and Academic. These awards are a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and sense of community shown by our students!

In the Boarding Life category, we celebrate Vivi, Paria, and Lucรญa, who have been outstanding boarders, always supporting their peers, fully embracing the boarding life with enthusiasm, and setting an example of friendship and camaraderie. These three have truly embodied the spirit of our house.

In Activities, our winners were Sophia, Rafaela, and Masha. These girls have stood out for their positive attitudes, always ready to participate with energy in weekend activities, trying new things, and encouraging others to join in. Their enthusiasm and energy are contagious, and their willingness to make the most of every moment in boarding has been exemplary.

Finally, in the Academic Awards category, we are excited to recognize LJ, who not only achieved the highest grades but has also shown incredible dedication to her academic work. Additionally, we want to give a special mention to Patricia who has excelled in the French section, Paria in IBCP1 and Rafaela in G11, as well asย  all the other girls who, through hard work and perseverance, are achieving great things. We are so proud of everything theyโ€™ve accomplished!

Each of these students has demonstrated what it means to be part of Villa du Lac, and weโ€™re confident they will continue to achieve amazing things. This is just the beginning! Thank you for your effort, dedication, and for making our house a stronger, more united place. We are so proud of you all and know that you will achieve everything you set your mind to!

Boarder of the week – Congratulations to….. CAYLA!!!!!

This week, our Border of the Week winner is Cayla, who left us deeply impressed with her brilliant presentation at COP. Her talk, which addressed the crucial role of Indigenous communities in China in the fight against climate change, reminded us of the importance of including their voices in a just transition to a more sustainable future.

Cayla explained how Indigenous communities are not only facing the harshest consequences of climate change, but also how they are guardians of ancestral knowledge and practices that could be key to mitigating these effects. She highlighted the urgent need for public policies that protect their territorial rights, ensure equitable access to climate resources, and defend their territorial sovereignty, allowing for a just transition for all.

We are incredibly proud of her participation in such an important event, and to see how her work contributes to raising awareness among the next generation about climate justice. Congratulations, Cayla, for being an inspiration to us all! This is undoubtedly just the beginning of your amazing journey toward a fairer and more sustainable world. ๐ŸŒโœจ

Volleyball tournament ๐Ÿ

This weekend, two of our students, Bella and Rafaela, travelled to Poland to take part in an exciting volleyball tournament alongside other schools from the Nord Anglia group. These talented athletes are proudly representing Collรจge du Lรฉman in a competition that will run until Tuesday.

We are incredibly proud of them and all they are achieving in this international event. Their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship are an inspiration to us all.

For now, weโ€™d like to share some photos theyโ€™ve sent us from Poland. Thank you so much, girls, for your commitment and for representing us so well!

We wish you the very best of luck for the rest of the tournament! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ

Unforgettable Moments of the Weekend

This weekend was filled with activities and special moments for our students. From healthy pursuits to a touch of festive magic, the girls made the most of their time.

They enjoyed a variety of workshops and sports on campus: some honed their cooking skills, while others chose the dynamism of tennis or the serenity of activities like stretching and pilates, relishing moments of relaxation and bonding with friends.

On Saturday afternoon, several students ventured beyond the school grounds to visit Geneva, and they couldnโ€™t have picked a better time! This weekend marked the opening of the famous Christmas market by the lake. Under a sky lit by festive lights and with a magnificent Christmas tree as a backdrop, the girls delighted in exploring the stalls, shopping for gifts, and tasting local treats.

Additionally, some students took the opportunity to search for their dresses for the much-anticipated Winter Ball, which is just a few weeks away. Excitement for this elegant celebration is building daily, and the girls are already planning every detail to ensure it will be an unforgettable evening.

This weekend was a perfect reflection of the balance we strive for: moments of recreation, personal growth, and time to savour the magic around us. We are certain that these memories will remain cherished in their hearts forever!

A long but fun weekend!

This weekend, our students enjoyed a little break from the routine thanks to Friday’s holiday. Many went on off-campus adventures, while those who stayed behind took the opportunity to recharge their batteries… and then some! The activities began with a cooking workshop full of creativity and flavours. There was no shortage of delicious dishes, and the occasional โ€˜masterpieceโ€™ was definitely a memorable culinary experiment. But the action didn’t stop there: there was also golf and tennis, where amidst laughter and a bit of healthy competition, our students demonstrated their skills. The more adventurous joined in with a walk in the forest, where the fresh air and views became the best treat of the day.
Finally, bodyshaping and pilates sessions, ideal for waking up the body (and discovering muscles we didn’t even know we had). Then, for those looking for peace and impossible stretches, it was the turn of stretching, where everything from toe touching to some photo-worthy poses.
It was a weekend where everyone enjoyed themselves in their own way, and now our students return to class full of energy and stories to share. CDL knows how to make a long weekend an unforgettable experience!
