Assembly: what’s to come

Today at Assembly we had some very special moments and caught up on what’s coming up in the school calendar.

To begin with, we had the pleasure of listening to Sedef playing the piano. His performance was truly inspiring. These types of performances not only allow us to enjoy the art, but also to support our fellow students in their achievements and passions.

Afterwards, we had a talk about the recent trip to Tanzania, which took place during the October break. They shared with us the experiences and stories that our colleagues went through there, from the visits to local communities to the cultural learning and service activities they undertook. It was certainly an enriching trip, and one that left a lasting impression on them and on those of us listening to their stories today.

We also took the opportunity to review some of the important events coming up, which will allow us to enjoy different activities and maintain our community spirit. L’Escalade, a historic and fun celebration in which we all take an active part. In addition, the Charity Committee is preparing for the Christmas activities, inviting everyone to get involved in solidarity and fundraising initiatives, to make this time even more meaningful.

They also talked about the mountain and ski weekend.

Today has been an Assembly full of inspiration and excitement for what is to come – let’s keep building memories together!

WELCOME BACK! A memorable journey to Tanzania

Welcome back everyone!

From VDL, we hope you have returned from the break feeling refreshed and ready for a new term.

For those who joined the Tanzania trip, we’re certain it’s left an indelible mark on your minds and hearts. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the experiences you shared during our two weeks in Tanzania, a journey that blended community service with the beauty of discovery and relaxation.

In the first week, you took part in a meaningful project, helping to build vital infrastructure alongside local communities. This experience was not only about getting our hands a bit dirty but about learning the importance of service, teamwork, and resilience. Each conversation shared taught you lessons in collaboration and empathy that go beyond the classroom.

The second week brought you to the scene shores of Zanzibar. After days of hard work, you enjoyed the breathtaking beaches, crystal-clear water and a chance to unwind. This was a time for reflection, bonding and celebrating the friendships we strengthened. The beauty of Zanzibar reminded us of the significance of balance in life-of dedicating ourselves to hard work but also finding time to rest and recharge.

We are grateful to each student who participated, bringing energy, kindness, and open-mindedness to every moment. Your commitment to making difference and embracing new experiences has set a wonderful tone for the term ahead.

Here’s to an inspiring term full of growth, learning, and new adventures!

International Award!

We would like to thank Melinda Rafa, Aurora, Sophia, Ayla, Lucia and Lusha for their efforts to make our international community a respectful and united space. Your openness and willingness to integrate the different cultures of the school has made a big difference.

Thank you for being friendly, respectful and for creating an environment where everyone feels welcome. The way you have embraced diversity and helped make this school a place where everyone, no matter where they come from, feels included, is something we value greatly.

Thank you very, very much girls!!!!!!

Boarders of the week <3

We are thriller to congratulate Iara and Sophia, our boarders of these two weeks.

Iara was ”border of the week” last week because of her kindness, for being willing to help at all times and for asking questions to each of her companions and to the houseparent and house tutor.

Sophia is ”boarder of the week” this week. She is always willing to participate in all the activities that are proposed (sports, activities, making new friends…), with a smile and a positive energy that is contagious to everyone.

Thank you very much girls for helping and for your smile every day! Good job!

Ole Ole! Spanish dinner

Today is Wednesday, and that means… International dinner!

As we all know, happiness starts in your stomach, and today we were lucky to enjoy a Spanish dinner: paella, chicken, bread with tomato, chorizo, patatas bravas and we finished with a delicious dessert: crema catalana! All this accompanied by Spanish music and a nice decoration of the dining room.

If you would like to see more photos and opinions, they will be in the school magazine!!!

Thank you very much for making us enjoy these wonderful moments and dinners in our great big home: CDL โ™ฅ

Weekend vibes: big smiles, big memories

This weekend, our students had some unforgettable experiences, with a range of activities both on and off campus.

Exploring Europa Park: some students had the opportunity to enjoy two exciting days at Europa Park, one of Europe’s largest and most popular theme parks. Amidst adrenaline-filled rides, breath taking shows and delicious food, our girls not only had fun, but also strengthened their bonds of friendship. It was an experience they will surely remember for a long time to come.

Meanwhile, another group of students stayed at CDL, enjoying a variety of activities. There were horseback riding, yoga and Pilates classes, perfect for relaxing and connecting with the body. There was also time for sports such as badminton, tennis, golf and trampoline jumping, allowing the students to stay active and have fun at the same time.

All in all, it was a weekend full of energy, creativity and connection. At CDL, we love to offer our students varied options to make the most of their free time, always in a safe and fun environment.

Thank you for this weekend and let’s start the week with energy!

First ”boarders of the week” <3

Both have filled the house with energy and happiness with their good mood and their smiles. Always arrange to participate in everything that is proposed to them, trying activities, sports, meeting different people, making new friends… And not only that, but encouraging the rest of the girls to participate!

Well done, girls! We are so happy to have you with us. Keep shining and spreading your joy โœจ.

Dinner at home – Italy

Today we had our first dinner at home this year! We enjoyed ITALIAN FOOD: meat lasagne and for dessert, tiramisu. We also had a bit of karaoke to end the night, laughing and singing to our favourite songs!

It feels so special to be able to share these moments together, creating memories and enjoy a home-cooked meal at least once a month. These are the little things that make life so meaningful.
