This week, we’re so excited to celebrate seven outstanding boarders: Margo, Dasha, Chloe, Rafa, Vivi, Melina, and Evelyn!
These girls had a truly excellent week—upholding all house expectations and rules with ease, positivity, and great energy.
A huge well done to Margo, Dasha, Chloe, Rafa, Vivi, and Melina, who all took part in the 24-hour Charity Run—a fantastic display of commitment and community spirit. (You can read more about the event in our earlier blog post!)
And a special shout-out to Evelyn, who spoke beautifully and calmly in our monthly boarding assembly, introducing the upcoming Cultural Diversity International Music Concert which she is co-organising (See our previous post for more on that special moment!)
Congratulations to our Super Seven! 🌟
We had a fun, sunny and refreshing weekend at Villa du Lac, with a variety of activities that kept the girls active and relaxed.
Tennis was available on both Saturday and Sunday, giving the girls the chance to enjoy the courts and some friendly matches. On Sunday, the focus shifted to wellness, with Pilates and stretching sessions helping the girls recharge and focus for the week ahead. A few also took part in golf, enjoying some time outdoors in the sunshine!
And of course, we all enjoyed our usual Sunday brunch—a yummy tradition that brings everyone together mid-day.
Well done girls—it’s always lovely to see you embracing these weekend opportunities!

This Saturday, our boarding community proudly took part in the inspiring 24-Hour Run for Cancer Research — a fundraising event dedicated to supporting vital cancer research efforts. Among the enthusiastic participants were Vivi, Rafa, Dasha, Vanessa, Chloe, Polina, Melina, Margo and Monica, who all gave their time, energy, and heart to this important cause.
The event ran continuously for 24 hours, with members of the boarding community taking turns on the track to ensure that someone was always running in support of the cause. It was not only a physical challenge but also an incredible display of unity, resilience, and compassion.
All the funds raised during the run will go toward cancer research, helping to bring hope to those affected by the disease. Seeing our students actively involved and giving their best was a proud moment for all of us.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event — and even more grateful for the spirit, strength, and solidarity shown by our girls. Well done to everyone who participated and supported!
Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone-Ayla is 18!!! 🎉
It’s such a joy to have Ayla in our boarding community. She’s loyal, grounded, and always there for her friends-a true constant in the house. Whether it’s her calm presence, quiet strength, or the way she brings people together, Ayla has a way of making everyone feel at ease.
Turning 18 is a big moment, and we’re so proud to celebrate Ayla! Wishing you a beautiful year ahead filled with love, laughter, and everything you dream of.
Have the most amazing birthday-you deserve it! 💫🎂
We’re incredibly proud of Evelyn, who stepped up to speak at our monthly boarding assembly this Thursday!
With her calm, clear, and confident voice, Evelyn made an inspiring announcement about a very special initiative she’s co-organising with Yoli: the Cultural Diversity – International Music Concert, which will take place on June 4th during our final boarding assembly.
This event aims to showcase the musical talents of our boarders and, most importantly, to celebrate the incredible internationalism of CDL—with so many students from all over the world. It’s a beautiful initiative from Evelyn and Yoli and a way to bring us all together by celebrating the end of the school year through music and cultural expression.
As someone with a more reserved nature, it was especially wonderful to see Evelyn take the spotlight and share this exciting project with the boarding community.
Bravo Evelyn, we’re so proud of you!
This week in our Wellbeing programme, we focused on the first key takeaway from Pillar 5: empathy—the difficult but essential skill of seeing the world through someone else’s eyes!
The girls watched a short video presented by the student advocates team, exploring what empathy truly means, why it can be challenging, and how it helps us connect and build a stronger community.
After the video, we had a thoughtful group discussion, where the girls reflected on real-life situations—both when empathy can be difficult, and when they’ve experienced or shown it in meaningful ways. From moments of misunderstanding to examples of quiet support, it was powerful to hear their personal insights.
It’s these conversations that help deepen understanding and remind us all of the importance of kindness, respect, and seeing beyond our own perspective.
We look forward to continuing the journey through Pillar 5 next week, as we keep encouraging our boarders to grow not just academically, but emotionally and socially too.

This week, we’re proud to name Chloe and Paria as our Boarders of the Week!
Both girls took on different challenges as part of the CDL May Fitness Challenge – and won! Paria impressed us all by holding the longest chair pose, while Chloe smashed it with the most jumping jacks in one minute!
These fun daily challenges might seem small, but they show something big: Chloe and Paria bring great energy, participation, and spirit to our boarding community.
Well done, girls! We love seeing you get involved and represent the house so enthusiastically! 💪✨

This weekend was full of energy and sunshine at the boarding house! With the warm weather gracing us, the girls made the most of it by diving into a variety of exciting activities. From the thrill of wakeboarding on the lake to perfecting their swings on the golf course and tennis courts, there was no shortage of action. Karate sessions brought focus and discipline, while time in the garden offered a peaceful retreat.
Those looking for a gentler pace enjoyed chess, stretching and Pilates to relax and recharge. Many took to the paths for a run in the fresh air, enjoying the freedom of the open outdoors including a trip to the bio park to see the animals.
Some girls took advantage of the beautiful spring days to explore and socialise in Geneva, soaking up the culture and atmosphere of the city.
Amidst all the fun, exam preparation was in full swing. Whether revising in quiet study spaces or working together in groups, the girls showed impressive dedication and focus.
We wish the very best of luck to all our students with exams next week! You’ve got this 💪🏼
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the wonderful Iara – our Boarder of the Week!
With her big, fun personality and lively energy, (and amazing hula hooping skills) Iara is always a bright presence in the house. But what touched us most from the week was her thoughtful act of kindness: noticing we were low on fruit, she brought strawberries for everyone – just because she cared.
It’s these small but meaningful moments that truly build up our community, and we’re so grateful for the way Iara brings both joy and heart to Villa du Lac.
Well done, Iara!
