House Activity – personalised mug painting ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿต

Today saw the Villa du Lac family coming together for our House Activity and the creative talent on display was really quite something!

Every member of the House, students and staff alike, chose a mug and decorated it in whatever style they liked. From favourite cartoon characters to beloved pets, favourite quotes to important dates, and an array of designs worthy of a home decorating store, the girls put their personal stamp on their mugs before we transferred them to the ovens to set the paints.

It was a lovely way to spend an evening together and we feel truly blessed to be able to share moments like this together ๐Ÿ’•

Creativity and Flavor at the Gingerbread House Competition!

This weekend, our boarding house was filled with festive spirit and creativity. Last Sunday, the students from Villa du Lac came together to participate in the much-anticipated Gingerbread House Competition, and it was a huge success!

What could be better than decorating a house with your own personal touch, full of candies and frosting, and then enjoying it afterward? Thatโ€™s exactly what our girls did. Every detail of our gingerbread house reflected their holiday cheer and the joy of sharing this special moment.

Weโ€™re proud to announce that Villa du Lac earned third place in the competition, going up against some truly impressive creations from other teams. Although the competition was tough, thereโ€™s not a crumb left of their creationโ€”they thoroughly enjoyed every bite!

This activity not only left us with a sweet memory but also brought the holiday spirit alive among our students, filling the afternoon with laughter, camaraderie, and the magic of this special season.

Congratulations to our girls for this achievement and to all the participants for their incredible efforts! We continue to create unforgettable memories that celebrate creativity and togetherness.

Our Weekend: Races, Chocolate, and Creativity

This weekend has been a whirlwind of fun, effort, and, of course, hot chocolate!

Several of our girls laced up their trainers and brought their competitive spirit to La Escalade, the famous race in the heart of Geneva’s historic Old Town. It was tough, but they gave it their all, spurred on by the cheers of the crowd. Afterwards, we returned home with tired muscles, proud hearts, and a well-deserved cup of hot chocolate to recharge.

Meanwhile, another group embraced the holiday spirit with a visit to the charming Christmas Market in Montreux, one of the most magical in Switzerland. Surrounded by lights, music, and festive treats, they enjoyed a “chaud chocolat” with cream that, according to them, could almost rival the one we make at home.

Back at the house, the energy was buzzing. Our usual activities like stretching, pilates, badminton, tennis, and karate kept many busy, but the highlight was the epic gingerbread house competition. Creativity and laughter filled the air as the girls crafted beautiful masterpieces, ready for tomorrow morning’s big contest.

It has been a weekend full of laughter, unforgettable moments, and sweetness. Now, time to recharge for tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Boarder of the week – Congratulations to….. CAYLA!!!!!

This week, our Border of the Week winner is Cayla, who left us deeply impressed with her brilliant presentation at COP. Her talk, which addressed the crucial role of Indigenous communities in China in the fight against climate change, reminded us of the importance of including their voices in a just transition to a more sustainable future.

Cayla explained how Indigenous communities are not only facing the harshest consequences of climate change, but also how they are guardians of ancestral knowledge and practices that could be key to mitigating these effects. She highlighted the urgent need for public policies that protect their territorial rights, ensure equitable access to climate resources, and defend their territorial sovereignty, allowing for a just transition for all.

We are incredibly proud of her participation in such an important event, and to see how her work contributes to raising awareness among the next generation about climate justice. Congratulations, Cayla, for being an inspiration to us all! This is undoubtedly just the beginning of your amazing journey toward a fairer and more sustainable world. ๐ŸŒโœจ

Volleyball tournament ๐Ÿ

This weekend, two of our students, Bella and Rafaela, travelled to Poland to take part in an exciting volleyball tournament alongside other schools from the Nord Anglia group. These talented athletes are proudly representing Collรจge du Lรฉman in a competition that will run until Tuesday.

We are incredibly proud of them and all they are achieving in this international event. Their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship are an inspiration to us all.

For now, weโ€™d like to share some photos theyโ€™ve sent us from Poland. Thank you so much, girls, for your commitment and for representing us so well!

We wish you the very best of luck for the rest of the tournament! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ

Unforgettable Moments of the Weekend

This weekend was filled with activities and special moments for our students. From healthy pursuits to a touch of festive magic, the girls made the most of their time.

They enjoyed a variety of workshops and sports on campus: some honed their cooking skills, while others chose the dynamism of tennis or the serenity of activities like stretching and pilates, relishing moments of relaxation and bonding with friends.

On Saturday afternoon, several students ventured beyond the school grounds to visit Geneva, and they couldnโ€™t have picked a better time! This weekend marked the opening of the famous Christmas market by the lake. Under a sky lit by festive lights and with a magnificent Christmas tree as a backdrop, the girls delighted in exploring the stalls, shopping for gifts, and tasting local treats.

Additionally, some students took the opportunity to search for their dresses for the much-anticipated Winter Ball, which is just a few weeks away. Excitement for this elegant celebration is building daily, and the girls are already planning every detail to ensure it will be an unforgettable evening.

This weekend was a perfect reflection of the balance we strive for: moments of recreation, personal growth, and time to savour the magic around us. We are certain that these memories will remain cherished in their hearts forever!
