Dear all,

This weekend some of the girls went to Copenhagen and spent some quality time together despite the cold! They had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful city center and came back tired but very happy.

For those staying in the house, we started to get a little bit festive. You might say “It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!”. We had some tasty chocolate brownies, sang karaoke, played Just Dance, drank hot chocolate and even started decorating the house. For some of our more adventurous girls, a trip to Andilly Christmas Park was taken and if there had been space in the bus, we are quite certain that they would have brought at least one donkey home!

Not only were we getting festive in the house, but the charity Christmas box event took place in Leman and a number of the girls went to help pack gifts for disadvantaged children around Europe. It is a fantastic charity and we are so proud that our girls got involved! 🎁💖🌲

Today we are celebrating “Odd Socks Day” to encourage students and staff to embrace individuality and differences by wearing mismatched socks. The not matching socks represent the uniqueness of each individual, like all the amazing girls we have in Villa du lac. The emphasis is on appreciating differences and discouraging judgment based on appearances. Well done for joining this lovely initiative! 🧦  #OddSocksDay #AntiBullyingWeek

Ana, our house tutor, and Amanda have joined forces to champion the second well-being pillar, which focuses on protecting against bullying and promoting diversity. Ana leads this ambitious project, and Amanda was selected to be the advocate for this pillar and is deeply committed to driving it forward.

We have been back a week and already the summer sun seems like a distant memory and we all felt the inevitable arrival of autumn, accompanied by a lot of wind and rain! This weekend was one for indoor activities and the girls indulged in some of their favourites, such as chess, stretching and relaxation, horse riding, and tennis.

The house truly becomes a home when we can be cozy and relaxed, shielded from the rain and chilly temperatures outside! Many films were watched, hot chocolates consumed and teas made! ☕🍿🎬
