Congratulations Louise!

Yesterday Louise became one of the members of The National Honour Society (NHS), which is the United States’ premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honour roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character – the four pillars of the organization. NHS is a distinctive multifaceted learning experience that provides a solid and meaningful foundation for life.

We are very proud of you Louise!!

Congratulations as well to Justin, Mongoljin, Jill and Hellen!

Well done !

On Top of the World this Weekend

This weekend the girls took part in various activities ranging from Paddle-Boarding to Tree Adventures! Great job ladies for stepping out of your comfort zones and trying something new! We heard that Hai Ngan was also one of the only people to stand up and stay balanced on the paddle-boards this weekend, so well done for not making a splash!

Nap of the Day

New post chain starting here on the VDL page.

The life of a high school student can be tough, sometimes you just need a little down time. Stay tuned for the next best nap pics…

Carmen the Opera

This Friday, you could find half the house starting their weekend by taking a trip to watch the famous Opera, Carmen. They were hesitant at first as it was going to be a long night, but as the story began to get more intense, the girls got more into it. All in all, it was a good way to start off the weekend.

Camera Shy!

Spot the VDL Girl! For some reason this week, the girls got a bit camera shy and were hard to spot in their weekend activities. Biking, Tennis and discovering Montreux, a weekend packed of fun activities! Some of our girls even performed at the PFA BBQ on Friday, big step up moment for Villa Du Lac, well done girls!

Sports Day! “Go! Fight! Win!”

Sports day pt.1 took place this Sunday. The Villa du Lac girls competed against our sister house New Portena in a range of different activities such as the classic tug of war, and the three-legged race. Our resident basketball player, Carmen, had to put her coaching skills to the test to lead the team to victory in the basketball portion of the afternoon. The girls did a fantastic job and we were very impressed by their team spirit, it made for an enjoyable afternoon full of competitive drive and victorious, joyful laughs.

Working Hard or Hardly Working?

This weekend was full of activities and treats for the girls in Villa du Lac. Many took on Crossfit with a fighting mentality on Saturday morning while others tried their hands at Tennis, Golf and even saddled up for Horse Riding. Sunday brought out Lucelia’s baking skills as she prepared Pastel de Nata, a traditional dessert from Portugal, for all the girls; which they could enjoy in the house after dinner.
