Bon voyage :-)
This Weekend at Villa Terray 27!
Dear All,
We’ve enjoyed another great weekend at Villa Terray 27, engaging in a wide array of creative and physical activities this weekend!
On Friday, despite the rainy weather, we enjoyed a fun activity led by Mr. Ronan from Champs des Bois, where we played a game called Conkers with the seeds of a chestnut tree. Two students versed each other, and the objective was to crack the other person’s seed first! Before long, we were all cackling, and it was a lovely way to kick off the weekend. We ended the day snuggled up on the couch with a movie, then went off to bed to get a full night’s sleep before our big day on Saturday!
Saturday, the girls split off to their activities in the morning, including Banana Boat, Badminton, Horse Riding, and Art Club. Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice lunch in Léman, and set off to Geneva for some shopping and adventure–and Stella went to Balexert to celebrate a friend’s birthday with some fantastic bowling! We returned just in time for dinner, and then headed back to the house, ready for another evening of movies and sleepovers.
On Sunday, we took time to wake up slowly in the morning, savoring the chance to sleep in a bit! Then, we all headed to brunch to get a good meal in before moving on to our Sunday activities, including a thrilling excursion to Lazer Tag, Tennis, and Stretching. Some of our girls also engaged in a special Gardening activity, which was led by Ms. Rym, and was all about creating cozy and safe spaces for insects to live during the upcoming winter.
Following our activities, we prepared ourselves for the upcoming week by completing a Study Hall, and for our G4s, packing up for their trip to Les Elfes this week!
Check out some photos of our wonderful activities below–we can’t wait for next weekend!
Sunday Brunch at CDL 🥐🍳🧀
On Sundays, we have Brunch!
Every weekend, the boarders here at CDL enjoy a fantastic Brunch served on Sunday mornings, featuring a mix of breakfast and lunch foods. This special meal is served from 9:30-12:30, allowing early birds and late sleepers alike the opportunity to wake up and start their day at their leisure.
For Terray, it’s an excellent opportunity to sit down all together, and take our time to dine as a family. Sometimes, we end up staying at Brunch for an hour or more, chatting, laughing, and comparing plates! After Brunch, we head off to our favorite weekend activities, full of delicious food and ready to take on the day.
Take a look at the incredible selection we are served each Sunday. Warning– it might make your mouth water!
Respect Week at CDL
Hello everyone!
As we mentioned before, this week is Respect Week at CDL, and to celebrate, we gathered in Mandela to take part in a special activity together.
We spent time reflecting on what respect means, sharing ideas, and creating beautiful murals to decorate the school. It was a lovely moment where students from different Houses came together, collaborated, and expressed themselves through art.
The drawings turned out amazing — such creativity and thoughtfulness! It’s always great to share meaningful moments like this with others.
We’re continuing with more activities throughout the week, so we’ll keep you posted!
Homework, Respect, and a Special Guest!
We started the week by welcoming Kate from Portena Boarding House, who came to help the girls with their schoolwork.
Today we began Respect Week at CDL, and Kate explained the activities we will be doing on this topic. The girls had a chance to reflect on the meaning of respect.
Thank you, Kate — you’re always welcome to our house!
And of course, we’re happy to announce that Flora was chosen as Boarder of the Week yesterday!
We congratulated her for the great progress she’s made in adapting, the lovely relationship she has with her peers and the kindness she shows us every day.
It’s such a joy to see your smile, Flora. Thank you!❤️
We’ll keep you updated.
Have a great week!
Cozy Weekend for Terray 27 with CDB!
Last night, Terray 27 opened its doors to welcome the boys from Champ des Bois for a special junior houses movie night. The common room was filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious smell of homemade food as everyone settled in for an evening together.
Before the film, the group shared a wonderful dinner featuring freshly made dumplings – both veggie and shrimp – alongside tasty noodles and, to top it all off, a rich homemade cheesecake. The girls and boys enjoyed the chance to eat together in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, with plenty of conversation and smiles all around.
Once everyone was happily full, the lights dimmed, and the movie of the night began: Pixar’s Wall-E. The choice was perfect for such a cozy gathering – a heartwarming story that had everyone both laughing and reflecting.
It was a simple but memorable evening, bringing Terray and Champ des Bois together in the best way: through good food, good company, and a great film.
The fun continued today, this time at Champ des Bois. The girls of Terray were warmly welcomed into the boys’ house for an afternoon of creativity and games. Together, they rolled up their sleeves to bake and decorate cupcakes, filling the kitchen with sweet aromas and plenty of laughter as everyone tried their hand at different toppings and designs.
After enjoying the freshly baked treats, the group gathered for a series of classic boarding games. From lively competitions to moments of teamwork, the games brought out a great mix of energy, friendly rivalry, and cooperation. It was the perfect way to round off the weekend, strengthening bonds between the two junior houses and creating new shared memories.
Good night everyone!
🎉 Happy Birthday, Sora! 🎂
We’re ending this Friday on a joyful note — it’s Sora’s birthday! 🥳
Not everyone is home today — Flora, Kapa, Kailin, and Maria are off having fun at Europa Park, and Daria is spending the weekend with her visiting family. But that didn’t stop us from making Sora’s evening extra special!
After going out for dinner with her sister, Sora came home to a sweet surprise — candles lit on her birthday cheesecake, and all of us waiting to celebrate with her. The girls gave her the beautiful cards and thoughtful gifts they had prepared, and we all shared a slice of that delicious cheesecake…
Happy Birthday, Sora!!! 🎈🎁🎊
And now… we’re signing off because it’s time to watch K-Pop: Demon Hunters together!
Good night, everyone! 🌙✨
A Belgian Dinner at CDL!
This week, the girls gathered for a Belgian-themed dinner at CDL, transforming the dining hall into a little corner of Brussels.
The evening began with Belgium’s most iconic dish: moules-frites. Steaming bowls of mussels in a savory broth were paired with golden fries — crispy on the outside, fluffy inside — a combination that quickly became the highlight of the table.
Next came chicory gratin with Edam. The creamy béchamel and melted cheese softened the chicory’s natural bitterness, turning it into a comforting and surprisingly popular dish. To balance the richness, the cooks served braised Swiss chard, tender and earthy, adding a rustic note to the menu.
The meal ended on the sweetest note: warm Belgian waffles crowned with whipped cream and colorful jams. Strawberry, apricot, and berry preserves made every bite feel festive and indulgent.
More than just a dinner, it was a celebration of flavors and togetherness. At Collège du Léman, Belgium came alive for one evening — and the girls enjoyed every moment! 🇧🇪
🎤 Boarding Assembly Throwback – With a Little R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
Hey everyone!
Today marked our second boarding assembly, and the theme was all about one powerful word: RESPECT. We dove into what it really means, with some inspiring speeches and thoughtful presentations from our amazing house parents, touching on everything from kindness to clear communication.
And guess what? Mr. Gordon took us on a musical detour back to the swingin’ 60s with none other than Aretha Franklin and her legendary anthem, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” — guaranteed to get your toes tapping and your thoughts spinning.
Mr. Ronan also gave us a solid reminder: own your actions & BE KIND! If you don’t take responsibility, who will? It was one of those moments that makes you think and sticks with you long after. Thank you Mr. Ronan for a powerful introspection 🙂
The excitement doesn’t stop there — we’re gearing up for our big trip to Europa Park. The countdown is officially ON. Get ready for laughter, adventure, and maybe a rollercoaster scream or two!
We did miss Sora and Flora, who are off on a school trip (lucky them!), but they’ll be back tomorrow with stories of their own — and we can’t wait to hear all about it.
Until next time, we’re keeping the good vibes going, making memories, and learning together every step of the way.
See you soon!
