Dinner at Home – Indonesia!

Tonight, we had another lovely dinner at home. We are treated to a dinner at home one Thursday per month, and each dinner has a different country for its theme. We had Indonesian food tonight, featuring Nasi Goreng, chicken skewers with sauce, and delicious coconut cakes for dessert! Dinner at home for Terray means a chance to connect with one another as a family. We are so thankful for these opportunities and always look forward to eating together in the house. More Weekend Fun!

We absolutely love our weekend activities here at Terray! This past weekend was particularly special, as several of our girls took part in a heartfelt activity to celebrate Women’s Day. In this creative and meaningful project, they used paint and their hands as stencils to craft beautiful collages honoring the women in their lives. Alongside this, we also enjoyed our regular weekend activities like cooking, horseback riding, tennis, and much more!

International Dinner – A Mexican Fiesta!

Tonight we enjoyed another fantastic international dinner, this time with the theme of Mexico! Our girls enjoyed soft corn tacos with shredded beef, tortilla chips with guacamole, and seasoned rice. For dessert, we were treated to cream puffs with chocolate and spices on top– the heat definitely surprised some of us! This meal was definitely a favorite among Terray with many of the girls going back for seconds. We are so thankful to be able to experience cuisine from around the world here at CDL!

International Dinner – Colombia!

Tonight we enjoyed another fabulous International Dinner, this time Colombian-themed! The menu included Pollo Asado, arepas with cheese, empanadas, Colombian corn, and for dessert, milk jam pancakes! For many of the girls, this was their first experience with Colombian food, and they absolutely loved it. Some of us went back for seconds (and thirds!). Check out some mouth-watering photos of our dinner below!

Welcome, February! This Weekend at Terray

This weekend, the Terray girls enjoyed a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and fun! On Saturday, some of the girls headed out for a beautiful day of horse riding, enjoying the fresh air and the peaceful surroundings, while others returned to the tennis courts, staying active. A few girls chose to rest and recharge in preparation for our first Ski Day on Sunday, and others took the opportunity to enjoy a little shopping spree in Geneva–check out Jade’s new ride below!

There were also cozy sleepovers, filled with laughter, stories, and bonding – a great way to unwind and spend time together. On Sunday, the excitement continued as everyone bundled up for a day of skiing! After an incredible Ski Weekend in January, the girls were fully prepared and excited for another day up in the mountains, and they had an amazing time. It was a weekend full of unforgettable memories, great times with friends, and a perfect balance of action and relaxation!

Wellbeing Pillar 3: Building Positive Relationships

We’ve kicked off our third Wellbeing Pillar in Terray, focused on building positive relationships with ourselves and others. In this first week, we discussed how being kind to ourselves in our inner dialogue can improve both our wellbeing and relationships.

After a short video and lesson, the girls wrote their names inside a circle on paper, listing the roles they play and the positive traits they embody. They did a wonderful job recognizing what makes each of them unique and special. Then, each girl received a photo of another girl, wrote two compliments, and returned them.

These activities were a great way to reinforce the importance of self-love and recognition, as well as the power of positive reinforcement within a community. It was a wonderful reminder of how we can uplift ourselves and others in meaningful ways, setting a strong foundation for the next two weeks to come in our exploration of healthy, positive relationships.

International Dinner – Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year!

After a very special Tuesday celebrating the Lunar New Year, we have continued the celebrations this Wednesday with another fantastic international dinner. The menu tonight featured delicious Chinese cuisine, including sweet and sour chicken, sauteed beef and onions, and shrimp tempura, all atop mountains of rice and noodles! We were so thankful to enjoy this special moment together celebrating a very special day. Terray wishes everyone a prosperous, happy, and healthy Lunar New Year!

Dinner at Home – France!

This evening at Terray, we enjoyed another fabulous dinner at home! We adore dinners at home because it is a chance to share a meal together in the comfort of our own home as a family. On the menu tonight were Croque Monsieurs, creamy coleslaw, and delicious roasted potatoes. Quite a few of us went back for seconds (and thirds)! Check out some photos of our delicious meal below.

Welcome Back Assembly + Moroccan Night!

Tonight, we had the first monthly boarding assembly of 2025! During this assembly, new students were welcomed to CDL, and those returning from Winter Break were welcomed back. We also heard a wonderful and inspiring poem by Rudyard Kipling, read by CDL’s prefects, and heard from students about the Japanese New Year and its traditions.

Afterward, we were treated to a Moroccan International Dinner, with cous cous, stewed vegetables and meat, and flatbreads. The dessert was a wonderful coconut orange cake, which made the meal one to remember! We are so happy to be back in the swing of things here at CDL, and we look forward to attending the upcoming Ski Weekend this weekend. Stay tuned for some snowy photos!

Boarding Assembly, Baking, and International Dinner!

This evening was packed with excitement as we attended our monthly boarding assembly, enjoyed a Norwegian international dinner, and baked cookies at home for the Grade 8 baking competition!

In our assembly, we were reminded that this coming week, we celebrate the “Excellence” aspect of our RISE values, appreciating all students who go above and beyond in and outside the classroom.

Our Norwegian dinner was a unique and wonderful culinary experience, with roasted potatoes, Norwegian meatballs, a vegetable medley, cured salmon, and to top if off, a delicious cinnamon roll for dessert!

Once we returned home, we started baking cookies for the grade 8 baking competition, using festive cookie cutters and all of our creativity to make delightful treats to share with classmates.
