A Love For Reading!

At Terray boarding house, we are passionate about encouraging our students to engage with and embrace reading in all its forms! We’ve introduced a daily habit where everyone reads for 20 minutes together and then shares a brief summary of their book. This not only fosters a love for reading but also sparks interest in different genres and titles across the group.

We’ve also brainstormed a few exciting activities to make reading even more interactive:

  • Design a book cover: Students can re-imagine the cover of a book they’re reading or create one for a book they would like to write.
  • Book swap: We’ll organise a fun book exchange where everyone can share their favourite reads.
  • Library visits: Setting aside a specific day to visit the school library to explore new books and genres.
  • Create your own comic book: Using templates, students can illustrate and write their own comic stories, blending creativity and reading.
  • Write and perform a short play: Students will work together to write a short play and perform it, using props and costumes from around the house.

The possibilities are endless, but our goal remains the same—to instil a love for reading as a lifelong hobby. I’m excited to share a few pictures that capture these wonderful moments in the house!

Football Tournament

Léman vs Terray: The girls, joined by Champs des Bois, formed a strong team and played in their first boarding tournament. Despite the defeat, we celebrated their resilience and sportsmanship. The match ended with a score of 5-1.

Sunday 5Km Run

A huge congratulations to our girls Alessia, Julia, Melissa, and Victoire for participating in the 5 km run this Sunday! A special thanks to our coordinator, Ms. Perine, for organising this fun event that not only keeps our boarders active but also brings everyone together for a great time.

Sunday Brunch

Brunch is always a feast enjoyed by both boarders and house parents . A big thank you to our chefs and the entire kitchen team for consistently delivering such delicious meals!

Happy Weekend :-)

We had a fantastic weekend! On Friday, Melissa participated in a vibrant color run, while Alessia returned victorious from a football tournament, proudly securing 2nd place. The girls and CDB boys took a trip to the local store to restock our snack cupboard, enjoyed some lively board games, and took part in their favourite weekend activities, which they always enjoy to the fullest.

Field Trip To Interlaken!

The Grade 8 Francophone students are on their way to Interlaken for an exciting school trip! The girls were full of excitement as they prepared to experience this wonderful time with their peers, exploring the stunning Lake Brienz by kayak and participating in many other activities. We’re all keeping our fingers crossed for good weather!

An unforgettable weekend: from Charlig to Europa Park, a pyjama party & loads of sport

What a weekend! 🐕🧗‍♀️🧘‍♀️🏇🤾‍♀️🤸‍♀️🎉🎢🎡

Everything started on Friday with the departure of Emily, Jade, and Annabella to Europa Park, where they enjoyed the bumper cars, thrilling rides, and Annabella even won a super cute, giant stuffed toy!

Meanwhile, back at Villa Terray, the highlight was the unexpected visit of Charlig, an adorable lost dog. Luckily, we were able to contact his owner, who came to pick him up almost an hour later – though not nearly long enough for everyone to enjoy his company! The following day, Charlig and his owner returned for a visit, bringing delicious macarons to thank us for taking care of him. All the girls were excited to see their furry friend again!

The weekend was packed with even more fun, including a shopping trip to Geneva to look for sports items, warm clothes, electronic devices, and food. On the way back, Miss Ana made some banana pear ice cream- a delicious and healthy way to enjoy fruit in a new form!

Other activities included horse riding, trampoline park, badminton, stretching, and tennis. There was also the chance to sleep together and plan a mini pajama party, taking advantage of the absence of half the house due to the Europa Park trip.

Now, everyone is hoping Charlig will visit again soon. We’re already looking forward to more weekends like this – full of laughter, surprises, and endless fun!

Wishing you all a wonderful week,
The Villa Terray Team 🩵

BBQ at Concha :-)

We had a lovely afternoon at Concha, bringing together parents, teachers, students, and boarding staff. Despite the windy weather, it was a great opportunity to meet the teachers in a friendly setting, discuss an overview of the students’ learning, ask questions, and share this moment together. The afternoon was filled with various activities, including food stalls, fundraising events, book sales, uniform sale, and great performances from many students on the stage.

JB Terray Weekend!

We had another fabulous weekend at Terray with the girls! The weather was much better than it had been a few days ago, which made it perfect for everyone to enjoy a variety of clubs and activities of their choice. On Friday night, we relaxed with a great movie, while on Saturday, a few girls took a trip to Geneva with their friends. Overall, it was a smashing weekend filled with fun and laughter!
